I have two important questions. First question: Does the baby need there own medical insurance while your in the hospital after yoy give birth???? Second Question: How do I start looking for pediatricians for my first born child?

Also, consider Family Practice doctors for your child, too. This will you give you more options and choice. Many do not know that Family doctors take care of children and adults. They are also tend to use more evidence-based practices (generally speaking) and you may go to the same place for you and your husbands care as well your child's.

to ur first question yes they need insurance after u give birth to them u have 30 days to get them insurance after u have them. an to ur second question itz not easy to look for a pediatrician when i had my first daughter i had a lot of people tell me so many diffrent storys about doctors that i was afraid to even get one for her but i had to find her one that i trusted a good luck with ur baby

@jessie- i have tricare and i have already called and talked to them....i would just call early because you know how they are the 'rules' change everytime you take a breath...atleast if you call early take notes and names so you have something to go off of when the baby is born

I agree with Jennifer, your insurance should pick up your child as well, as for looking for a pediatrician, I am not sure considering with my insurance, "Tricare" I am assigned a doctor. But I am not sure when I need to get a hold of them.

generally your insurance picks up your child you just have to call and inform them of the birth
