hello im also pregnant with my second child and cannot stand meat. The problem is that i am completely a meat and potatoes kind of gal. I feel your pain 200% but i am glad i am not the only one. my husband and family just think i have lost my mind but since i became pregnant no matter how much i want a steak or cheese burger or even a simple hot dog, if i smell it cooking, i run for the hills. hope you feel better

this is my second child and with both times i have hated meat. i never had heard of this so its nice that im not the only one. in fact before i ever got pregnant i had always been a big meat eater. expecially steak. i havent touched a steak since i was pregnant with my first and she is now 2. i can eat small amounts of chicken and beef mixed in things but to just eat a slab of meat really grosses me out. i couldnt even eat a bite of turkey this thanksgiving. its weird because i dont get sick at all anymore just cant eat meat. luckly once the baby is born it usually passes in a few months after. but who knows maybe ill still hate turkey like i do steak. its hard to find food that ever sounds good because of this problem. good luck of finding food you do like

I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second child and just recently got over the nausea and aversion to meat. I still don't really care for chicken but will force myself to eat some just for the protien. My midwife told me to sniff lemons for the nausea and it seemed to help a little. She alos mentioned to eat cottage cheese if I could because it had more protein than meat anyway. (she is a vegetarian) I hope it gets better, it really is an awful feeling and most times the only thing that gets you through it is knowing there is an amazing result at the end.

I was like that with my first. I couldn't stand the thought or sight or smell of meat cooking. My husband was banished outside to eat his steak!!!(poor thing). I htink it just one of those weird pregnancy things you just have to put up with. Nausea is a horrible thign I am 25wks pregnant with number 5 and have been experiencing naseau for a lot longer than with my other pregnancies. I have found keeping some dry crackers on hand or lollies to suck helps. I have also found that if I let myself get to hungry the nausea is worse. Hope this helps! Good luck

I'm also pregnant with my second baby. I've been vegetarian for over 12 years and I can't stand the smell/sight/thought of meat... but then that my pregnancies had no relevance!

All I can say is don't worry. I was vegetarian through my first pregnancy and had a healthy 8lbs 4oz baby boy! And now I'm doing it for a second time. Try and eat lentils, pulses and leafy greens to keep up your protein and iron intake if you're worried.

I completely feel your pain! When I was pregnant with my first child, I couldn't stand to be around any type of seafood or sauteed mushrooms. They both made me gag! As for the nausea, with my first pregnancy I took extra Folic Acid which seemed to help a little. This time around the doctor prescribed something that was supposed to help, but I never got it filled, so I can't tell you whether or not it works. :) I would definitely ask your doctor though! Some other things they suggested for me was eating 4 or 5 smaller meals throughout the day, eating crackers before getting out of bed, and make sure you're drinking lots of water. Hope it passes soon and congratulations on your second baby!
