I am almost 9 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first I had some mild nausea that lasted about 4 weeks. With this one, I have had 24 hour a day unbearable nausea, dry heaving, cant stand to see, smell or even think of food or anything with an odor! I cant even stand to smell my favorite Bath and Body Works Shower gel! Everything send me running to the bathroom to dry heave, but I never throw up! It's been so awful! I have a toddler, and a husband, who unfortunately still think they have to eat! (LOL) I have lost a few pounds as well, just because I cannot eat anything! One thing that I have found helps, is keeping a thing of ginger ale by my bed and sipping it before I even get out of bed. Also, I called my Dr and asked for a prescription called "Zofran." Our pharmacist had recommended it. You can take it up to 3 times a day. I'm still somewhat nauseated by I have noticed I'm not dry heaving after I take it and it does take the edge off the nausea! I am sorry for you, and I definitely know what you're going through! KEep you chin up! I keep trying to remind myself- This too shal pass! LOL (Either that or I will pass! : )

I was so sick with baby 3 that I had to take vitamin B-6 and vitamin B-12 injections twice a week all through my pregnancy. Ginger ale and sprite were my standbys. So far haven't vomited with this baby but am nauseous often, though not as severe as before. Very glad of that! I'm taking a supplement to help and also drinking ginger tea during the day. That helps.

I had "morning" sickness all day, everyday my first pregnancy! YUK! I couldn't stand all the extra saliva that I was making and having to swallow. (Oo I feel pookies coming on just talking about it!) I found that sucking on regular red tin Altoids were they only way to make it through the day. I remember having to eat half my lunch at work, going to throw up and then coming out of the bathroom to finish. This time I round it's not so bad. If I don't eat any protein in the morning I'll feel sick, right now I just have an egg and call it good. To this is day...I still don't eat cheerios! One to many times of that coming back up, I guess! Good Luck!

Try eating a saltine cracker or two when you first wake up in the morning. Keep them beside your bed and eat them before you move from the bed. If you don't feel better soon you can ask your ob-gyne for an antiemetic.

Yeah...I know the feeling of running to the bathroom, just to gag and sweat....and swear!!! LOL!!!
It's great that you don't really vomit, although sometimes it makes me feel better. At least you're able to eat a little bit and hold it in! I'm usually the sickest in the afternoon to evening, so lunch and specially dinner is out of the question! Last night I had a big bowl of watermelon and 2 Tums for dinner! LOL!!!
Maybe you should talk to your Dr about getting Diclectin?? It does work, but a side effect is drowsiness! Go figure! Like we're not tiered enough already?!! My Dr wanted me on it cause I had a couple episodes of light spotting around 6 weeks and she said that being sick didn't help matters! She thinks the spotting was due to the placenta attaching, but just to be sure....I'm taking the pills.
Hang in there! It's only another few weeks....at least that's what I'm telling myself ;)

Thank you...you are probably in worse shape than I am actually...I haven't vomited, I just feel terrible all the time. I feel like I need to run for the bathroom every three min., but nothing ever comes up. I don't want to even be in my kitchen in the morning, and usually have to force myself to eat at noon...I wind up feeling sort of ok after dinner time, but it starts all over every morning. I think I am only 7 or 8 weeks tho...I guess the worst could still be coming.

I'm in the same exact boat as you, and it sucks!!!! My daughter is 25months old and with her I had nausea, but only vomited a few times. Usually I could control it with diet and rest. I'll be 12 weeks pregnant in 2 days and the nausea and vomiting is still going strong! YUCK!!! It is SO bad this time that my Dr put me on Diclectin and I take 5 a day. It helps a lot, but I still feel sick, just not enough to vomit. I don't want to take any more pills (you can take up to 8 a day!) cause they make me tiered and dizzy, which is not ideal when you have to keep up with a very active toddler!! I'm so glad I don't work cause there's NO way I could manage that right now! With dd I worked until 10days before we had her!!!

I just try to take it easy and rest as much as possible. Forget the house work etc and just take care of yourself. My Dr said it's the worst between 8-12 weeks and then usually tapers off. I'm really hoping this is the case!!! Take is easy and I hope you feel better soon!!!
