stripped membranes??please help

I had it done 3 times and finially the 3rd time was the charm!! I went it and the did it around 4pm and i started contraction almost right away but still went home. (I also was dialated for a few weeks as well) I went in the hospital at 1am and had him at 12:11pm :) i would ask about it!! My son was 6 days late and he weighed 9.9 and i delivered him natural (all natrual) im scared though to have another big one i dont want it to ruin my insides :) Good luck hun!

My first child did not want to come out! I was 10 days overdue and they stripped my membranes but nothing happened! I had to be induced!

I had mine stripped at 40 weeks. It didn't do anything at all. I didn't go into labour until I was good and ready I guess.

I had it done as well and it was quick, went back to work after and was having contractions that night. Is a little uncomfortable at the time but not bad. good luck.

my dr did this to me once and it didnt do any good. but i think it all depends on your body and your baby. good luck

I asked my doctor to do this at 38 weeks with my last pregnancy and it didnt work for me. My doctor stripped my membranes two weeks in a row, the first time I did lose my mucus plug but I still did not go into labor for another week and a half and in the end i still had to be induced! My water broke a few days after the second stripping and I went almost a full day with no contractions. I think it depends on the person but it might help you out!

I had a sweep at 40 weeks it made me lose my mucas plug i was not dilated much either, had another sweep 4 days later and still wasnt much dilated but it started my labour with in 30 mins if that.

It did work for me. I was 2 weeks late and it put me into labor with in hours. I had it done mid afternoon and by 6pm I had contractions about 10 min apart. by 4am they were 5 min apart.
