Ok, so heres the deal. My boyfriend and I have been dating for sometime and I was originally on the pill. But after being on it for a while I noticed a few adverse side effects that I had noticed in the past (pre-conception of my 2 year old) I noticed that after awhile on Alesse I start to gain weight, become very moody and well both are a big issue for me. We have been talking for sometime about another pregnancy, and have decided that we'll try this september. Unfortunetly we both dislike condoms, I refuse to go back on the pill. (Last time I gained 25 lbs in 1.5 months, it was insane) and I was willing to try the Mirena but have backed down from that idea, because I'll only be on B/C for such a short time. Does anyone have any ideas/ options of temporary birth control that will not hinder our chances of trying in 6 months?

Thanks ladies, I have tried the ring it is very itchy and irritating and ended up falling off. I will look into tracking my cycle though.

the patch has been associated with blood clots, especially if you smoke so talk to your doc. Nuva Ring is good if you don't mind putting it in and out. If you are planning to have another fairly soon have you thought about NFP? I'm not an expert by any means, but I do have 2 friends who do it and have been very successful. You can chart your temp every day or get a fertility monitor.
