Anyone living near the leicestershire area

Hi Amanda
Not sure if we have spoke before.
I am Lucy 43 with a little girl 20 months old, Nadia. Live in South Leicestershire. Have Fibro and CFS. Just managing to work two days a wk at present but job cuts may mean I lose my job shortly. I have recently received DLA but just low level care component.

Hi Elizabeth, Thankyou for answering sorry your in pain all the time i know how you feel, it must be so difficult with your young children i think your a strong woman. xx. im having a bad time at the moment in alot of pain and can hardly lift my arms and can't walk well. i sleep alot due to my pain then get up and panic cause my house is a mess. im finding house work impossable at the moment i'd love to get a cleaner to help, my mum does my ironing for me . This is the 2nd time iv tried to claim DLA so im hoping i get it this time, i am worse now in pain consantly ..

Hi there im not that far from you im in derby, i also suffer with fibromyalgia, and i have a compromise nervus system so im always in pain, me and my husband have 4 young children all under the age of 7, there is Jordan who was 7 2 weeks ago Mitchell who is 5 and a half Melissa who is 4 nxt week then Kieran who is 22 months, i no how difficult it can be to be in constant pain and have to bring up children. I spend alot of my day in bed due to pain. you have said that you have just appiled for DLA i dont no if anyone has told you that you will be turned down the first time, dont let this put you off though reapply after 6 -8 weeks they have to turn your first claim down by law. i was awarded my DLA when i reappled the secand time.

We should try and meet if you are up to it when you are next over here. That would be really nice.

You take a lot of medications - I am sorry to hear that. I suppose though if they help it is worth it in the end. I take anti-depressants, betablocker (for anxiety/panic attacks), stomach acid blockers, anti-inflammatory capsules, iron tablets, eye drops for sore eyes, co-codamol (high strength) tablets. Plus many other supplements. My doctor won't give me gabapentin or similar meds because she says its too soon (!!!). Oh and Tramadol pain meds for night time.

Yes I suffer a great deal of fatigue/exhaustionand quite a lot of pain mainly in my joints esp hands, knees, feet and back. Sometimes hips and shoulders and also neck.

I suffer severe headaches and often. My immunity is rubbish as I pick up every germ going. I have had suspected swine flu as well about 2 months ago and had Tamiflu and stayed indoors for 7 days. David had it too but Nadia was ok. She has just had the Swine Flu jab.

I do find it hard to work two days a week (8.15 - 5.00) take Nadia to nursery at 7.30 am have to get up at 5.30 am. It is completely and utterly draining. I find it hard to stay awake in the afternoons at work.

Better go now nadia is yelling! again!

Hi Lucy, thankyou for replying i really like your daughters name its lovely. I come to market harb for shopping and my jobfocus interviews every 3 months because im on income support but iv aplied for disability they just take ages sorting anything out.

I like that new shop where iceland used to be its brilliant iv had some good things from there. Sorry your struggling with your health and your partner has to work alot do you get any help with your mums needs because i bet its making you very tired.
Im glad you got DLA im hoping i get something just so i can hire a gardener its begining to look like a jungle, i used to love my garden and i was upset when i finally had to say i can't do it anymore i used to grow veg, fruit and salad stuff i might still do some but in tubs not as much as i used to grow.
Do you find it hard to work ?do you suffer with alot of pain and tiredness ? sorry for the questions please don't feel you have to answer them if you don't want to. Im on alot of medication butrans patches 30mg( there like morphine) liquid morphine when im really bad , gabapentin, heart medication, thyroid stuff, asthma inhalers and a nebuliser for when my chest is bad im also on a antidepresant tablet i feel like a walking pharmacy and i hate taking tablets yuk

Hi I am Lucy 43 live in Mkt Harborough. Work two days a week in an office. Have an 18 month old little girl, Nadia. Help to support my elderly disabled mother locally. Have Fibro and CFS (and ongoing depression disorder). Just recently got low level DLA care element and Working Tax Credits (disability element). I am glad for this but it is still a massive struggle to manage each month. My partner works full time shifts in a DIY store. Not very helpful re hours and low pay.
