My fibro and migraines set off such pain that working out is down to light walking on my good days. I have so much weight to lose. I'm looking for suggestions and am open to all ideas. My fibro is especially bad in my neck, shoulders, mid to upper back and when I flare my migraines kick in instantly. I can't take pain medicine or migraine because the side effects are so unbearable. The doctor has told me I'm borderline allergic to them (joy!) so keeping in mind my upper body is pretty much useless and my will is strong, lol. please post away :)

I was diagnosed with FM too...What doctors are failing to do is figure out the "why". There is no magic pill for this. This has to do with our immune system, more specific you intestines. Look up symptoms of 'leaky gut'. This was my answer and I am feeling almost 100% after cutting out gluten, dairy, nuts, and most sugar. I was in so much pain, arthritis, headaches, tired,, sinus problems, hormonal problems, anxiety, fog brain, red palms. Its all gone since I changed my diet a few months ago. Good luck to you!

Linda, I am interested in that info on the nutritional cleanse.
I have fibro, migraines, OA, and neuropathy of the hands. I am in pain in one area or another at all times. I am also overweight. Although I have joined a gym I am beginning to think I jumped into something that is now just costing me money. I can get there only once or twice a week (in a good week) :0(
Being on disability I do not have a lot of options as everything is so expensive.
Luvmybella, working out in water is a great suggestion. It is my favorite due to the fact it is easier on the body. If the pool is heated I feel it is double beneficial because the muscles don't tense up as much. Hope you find something that works for you.

Swimming. It's still a chore when you are dying in pain, trust me, I can relate, I have fibro, rheumatoid arthritis, am overweight and am a not once but two time cancer survivor. It is the least impact on you body and I find that the pain is less than when I walk. On your good days perhaps you could swim. If you are like myself and don't have a pool, perhaps a friend, a gym or the YMCA, I use them. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions... Also you mentioned not being able to take pain pills, try using heating pads for your body and ice on your head a neck for the migraines. This helps me, I don't suffer from migraines but find myself getting plenty of tension headaches. Massages help me too. Hope this helps... =)

Hi,
This post just happened to pop up while on was in another community, maybe it's a coincidence, but I think I might be able to help you. Although I don't have fibro, I used to get migraines and be overweight. (and several of my friends have fibro.) My Doctor recommended this
full Body Nutritional Cleanse. (not a colon cleanse) What it does is help rid the body of toxins and impurities. Anyway, it did wonders for me! I feel so much better, plus I lost weight! (One of my friends has lost 110 pounds on the program.) My friends with fibro swear by it. Don't know if it'll help you, but if you're interested in learning more, I can get you some info. I know it stinks to be in pain!
Keep smiling, and have a great day!
Linda
