Hi! My name is Katie, I am 27 and have one son who is almost 8 yrs old. He is very energetic and I feel very guilty that I can't keep up with him and do everything he wants to do. My chronic pain is as a result of another condition. I have a blood clotting disorder and numerous acute clots has left me with lasting damage and chronic pain. I am still learning how to deal with my health problems and being a mum. I have just discovered this site and Im hoping it will really help me, mostly by having others who I can talk to that understand. I find myself hiding a lot of my worries and pain from my husband , family and friends, partly because I don't want to worry them and partly because it feels like Im complaining all the time and Im sure they'll get fed up of it.

Id love to hear from any one with similar problems, any one with advice or any one who just wants to chat.

Thanks.x

Hi, I am almost 54, I may as well be honest about my age because one look at my gray hair give it away lol. Although my issues are different in nature than yours pain is pain, and it is the one sickness that unless you are in pain it is hard to spot someone else in pain. I totally understand your not wanting to your family to worry, yet I have found that they do understand better if I am up front about the pain I am in. Do you have other children near where you live for your son to play with? You can always read and watch movies together. Are you able to stand at the cupboard long enough to bake cookies and have your son help. It will take a little longer and there will be a slightly bigger mess to clean up but you and your son will be spending tine together and having fun. I hop any of my rambling helps.
