Hi My name is Tootie and I'm 30yrs old and I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia, it's a Blood Dissorder.

Not Contagious,it just causes ALOT of pain. I have 2 bio kids and 1 Stepdaughter. I've been w/my husband for 11yrs and married 7yrs.

IThe winter is the worst time of year for me. I can't realy go outside and when i do I usualy get sick.

Medicaly speaking my body has fallen apart. I have no splean, appendix or gallbladder. had those removed at 12. I've had my lungs drained and have whats called Avacularnercrosis of the bone, wich means my bones are deteriorating. I have a right full hip replacement (got at 19) and i need the other replaced and both shoulders.

My leggs allways hurt. EVERYDAY and it makes it hard for me to do alot of things with my kids. I have a 12,4 and 1yr old. I take 90mgs of morphine twice daily for nonstop pain i'm admited in the hospital every few months. But I'M OK :) Thats Me...Tootie I hope everyone gets through their pains in life.

Hi Tootie,
I also have sickle cell and I have 5 kids. Yes it was very challenging esp when I got preg with my twins. But with alot of praying I made it threw. My kids are very healthy and I'm so greatful for that. When I was younger I use to do pretty well with my crisis. I only use to have about 1 every 3 to 5 months, now that I'm 32 its been soooo much harder. I wake up hurting about 3 to 4 times a week. Its a challenge everyday bc u dont no when that pain might creep up on you but I try to not stress and make sure I drink plenty of water and eat the right things. I dont no your religious stat but I looove to Pray and I will keep you in my Prayers!!!!

Tootie I feel you. I have sickle cell disease too. I am 28 yrs old. I have not yet had my hip and shoulder replacements. The doctors want to try to wait until I am at least 30 yrs old. I live in MI, and the winter can be so challenging. I am so scared to walk over ice that I often have my honey carry me outside in the snow! I find that as long as I bundle up though, I can do some winter activities. I always make sure that I have a warm winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves, and I wear 2-3 pair of long johns, and thick socks everyday I go out. But on really cold days I wear undershirts, sweatshirts, boots, etc; I go the whole nine yards! Have you ever thought of relocating to someplace warmer? http://www.circleofmoms.com/moms-sufferi... say dry heat is the best for us.

Hi Tootie,

I can help you with your pain & struggles. Please read the below informatin I have wrote. My life has forever been changed for the better & I thank God everyday. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.

Have you ever heard of Ardyss International? They are a health & wellness company. I became a consultant after their natural products helped myself along with my friends and family. We have never been in better health and our doctors have stated this. Ardyss sells all natural juices. Their most popular product is the Le'Vive juice. Le'Vive is a miracle! Le'Vive is made up of the power of the world’s top five antioxidant producing fruits in one product: Mangosteen, Noni, Acai Berry, Goji and Pomegranate. The combination of their juices leverages their synergic action in your body to the fullest, slowing your body's cells aging process while preventing the occurrence of terrible degenerative diseases. Basically unhealthy cells are rejuvenated and regardless of what health issue a person has they will no longer have it. Examples are diabetes, blood pressure & cholesterol problems, thyroid issues, fibromyalgia, sickle cell anemia, cancer, insomnia, migraines, flu, chronic fatigue etc. The health & wellness industry is going to hit the trillion-dollar mark in 2010 due to people going all natural & wanting to be healthier. There is nothing easier than drinking a few ounces of juice everyday instead of trying to swallow capsules or mixing powders in liquid. I was able to quit my job within a few months of working for Ardyss because of the rise of people wanting to be healthier & there is no selling involved, seriously. If you're interested in learning more about the products you can view my website at: www.ardysslife.com/bodybymoore. If your interested in the products or the business please let me know. Keep in mind you save 40% on all products if you sign up with Ardyss. An appointment with Ardyss will change your life.

yes it did. Well from Birth my Parents were told i wouldn't live past 4 and once i did it was, she'll never have children. Because I would be so sick and for yrs I believed it. I tried for 5yrs b4 i had my 1st dauughter and by then i had given up because 5yrs and my heart totaly broke everytime the test was negetive.

I Finally got pregnant and it was the HARDEST thing in my life. She was born 2months early, i spent 2 full months in the hospital on bed rest. I got Preeclampsia and then ended up going into labor because my placenta riped from my uterus. i was on morphine the whole pregnancy but she turned out fine. and all of this happend because of the sickle cell.

Now my last pregnancy I got Pregnant on BC Pills and it was just as bad. i was sick throughout the entire time and i spent four months in the hospital that time and she was only born a month early. same symptoms as the first pregnancy. I Gained so much weight that i couldn't walk, i could't carry it. I had a c-section. they took her one month early because she had stoped growing, i was just to lil and sick to carryher, so 4 months of bed rest in the hospital. she was born addicted to morphine because i was on if for the pain from the sickle cell. she's Ok and so am I. My tubes are tied, can't go through the pain anymore I love my girls but i just can't do it, I could lose the 3rd time around (if u know what i mean) but i'm Great :) what would u like to know about sickle cell?

Tootie, I am so sorry you have gone through so much so early. You sound very courageous. Did being pregnant jeopardize your health at all? I don't know anything about the disorder you have but it sounds very challenging.

Welcome to circle of moms! These ladies have helped me alot. I'm sure they will do the same for you. xoxo, Carolyn
