I have a tat on the back of my neck (my zodaic sign with stars) which is easily hidden when I wear my hair down. So depending on what you want and just how big its gunna be I say go for it. Just keep in mind some places and some people do not widely accept tats like those of us that have them!!

I have one on the back of my neck but I wouldn't get one in the sides or front, seems WAY too painful, besides I like being able to hide my tats if I want to.

I actually have one on the back of my neck, its a small Chinese symbol for courage, you cant see it when my hair is down, which is most of the time......i have 13 tattoos in all and can all be hidden if wanted :)

I have one on the back of my neck, but i also have long hair so I only show it off when I want to. Depending on your career I would say no, most places look down on visible tattoos, especially if you cannot easily hide them. If they're small and strategically placed I don't see a problem with it, I had an ex who had a treble clef sweeping back along his hairline that looked GREAT, so they can be pretty awesome depending on what you want, but frankly tattoos are still not accepted in most public workplaces (I work in a hospital and have to cover my forearm tattoo). So take that into consideration.

I have one, only my original placement I wanted was more behind the ear. It ended up lower.

Yeah, maybe if nursing is your goal, you may want to skip the neck tat.

ya that's the one thing I'm worried about ... As of right now im a caregiver ( for my mom ) kinda of plus but not really it's hard taking care of ur parent ;( I'm going back to school to Finnish up with my nursing .... I didn't want anything huge or crazy just a swirl of stars behind the ear And down the neck a little but I'm not sure if it will bite me in the butt come time for the job like u said .... Ahhh what to do -_-

It's really a tough call. I would have to say "no" just because neck tats are not as easy to cover as arms & legs. Many employers will not hire people with visible tattoos. So, I guess it depends on your career future. I'm lucky to work in a place that doesn't care about tattoos (as long as they are not offensive) but, I wouldn't do a neck tattoo. What are you thinking of getting?
