Tattoo Ideas for Moms

[deleted account] ( 14 moms have responded )

Hello, ladies! I'm interested in getting a tattoo referencing something about my kids. I don't want to do their names or faces...it's just done so often, I'm really wanting something different, you know? I was thinking maybe their signs of the zodiac...is that cheesy? Any other ideas or ink you've had done for your kids?

my fav shape is a star...I am thinking about getting a vine type thing with stars off it...colors would be different for my son and my step kids, maybe even one with wings for the one I lost. its a work in progress.

maybe come up with a design that uses the first letters of their names or something? you'll want to make it personal

I have three very unique boys and we all love music! My tattoo to represent my love for my boys is a treble clef with three very different stars around it and underneath it says, "Be A Simple Man...", my favorite song ever!! :-) It took me a long time to decide on this tattoo! Just think about it and when the perfect idea comes to mind, you will know...

well...I did get their names haha =) but I see alot of women with the feet prints also. I had thought of getting a teddie bear holding 3 balloons and inside the balloons write their name or birthdate or something. I intend on doing something else besides these names I already have because they are around a Trinity knot that is encircled by another circular design and I'm sure no one can read what they say =(

I got a quote "no one will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside." and his birthdate under it.

I don't have any tattoos but my husband is full of them. He hasn't gotten one to represent our daughter yet but I did see one on Miami Ink a long time ago. A women had 3 children and she got 3 lion cubs put on her to represent her kids. It was really cute and I thought it was a good idea. So maybe if there is an animal you like, you can use the baby version to represent your children.

I also thought about a tattoo where my c section scare is but I ended up have 2 babies via c section and the stomach just isn't the same anymore lol but I still like the thought. Really love the handprint ideas I'd never thought about that I really only thought of putting names as tattoos of my children

i took my daughters footprints and had my tattoo artist put them on my side as if she were walking up me with her first and middle name . i was going to include a line from the "footprints in the sand" poem but it was too much

I had to have an emergency c-section with my son and since I have a scar from it, I have decided that I am going to get his full name across the top of it written in Tibeten and then his date of birth and lon and lat of this birth place. Hubby has been trying to get me to get an arrow pointing to the scar that says "Nathan was here". Funny, but not going to happen

I got my favorite flower and then did a pink and blue butterfly. I have a boy and a girl. Easy to add to if we have another child.

how about you kids birthflowers....foot print and hand prints look great when done well...or there names written in Tibeten or another script that is beautifully crafted...even a few heart or stars that you have drawn representing them..Good luck and take your time...
