Tattoos and breastfeeding...

you can get a new tatt while breastfeeding. you just need to take extra care with the after care parts, the ink does not get into your blood stream. it does not release toxins into your body. only thing you have to worry about is infection but if you are a clean person which you should be since you are breastfeeding you shouldnt have any worries. i was told by 4 different doctors and a few artists that it was okay to get tatted while nursing. just be aware of infections that can cause you to take meds that are not safe while nursing.

7 years ago I had some ink done on my upper right arm, by a professional tattoo artist(20 years experience), my daughter was 6 months old at the time. from his personal research he found it was safe after the baby has finished all of the colostrum stage. BUT you really have to take care of any new ink because infection CAN pass through into the breastmilk
