Where Is The Best Place To Tattoo Your Child's Name?

I want to get my sons name tattoo to the inside of my middle finger on my right hand. I don't want it to big, small and simple. I figured I can cover it with a ring or band aid. Is it a good idea?

I got my daughter's name and birthday with sillouhettes of butterfly's on each side on the side of my leg. You can't really see it in the winter, but in the summer it's really a beauty. I haven't done my sons yet, but thinking of doing his name and birthday across the middle of my back for privacy reasons.

P.S. I also love the idea of waiting until your Daughter is old enough to write her own name.Then have her handwriting tattooed. It's adorable!

I have got my first son down the entire backside of my arm and my other son on the other arm. I get a lot of compliments on it but kinda wish I would've made them a little smaller for more tattoos. They take up a good portion of my arms. Good Luck!

I plan to get the ribbon symbol for aspergers on one wrist for my older son, then my younger sons nickname is Budah so I'm getting one of those on my other wrist. I have seen people with the foot/handprint tattoos and I love them but also love ones when a parent has actually let their child write their own name and gotten that tattooed with it

I know this is a while after you posted this, but I just wanted to share the ideas I have for my childrens tattoos that i'm going to be getting. I'm 18, and I miscarried a little girl, her name would've been Maya Starr, so I was thinking of getting a tattoo for her with the back ground being a star (after her middle name Starr) and then Gods hands holding a little Angel baby girl thats sleeping, with a blanket drapped over her butt, and getting the words 'Maya Starr' in cursive on the blanket.

Also, my ex boyfriend and I have raised his two little brothers so I of course consider them to be my kids as well, so for the younger one Bronx, I'm going to get his name how he writes it, with a Monkey near it...as I nicknamed him Spider Monkey. The other one, the oldest...Pheonix, I'm going to get his name, once again how he writes it, with a monster near it, as his nickname is Monster. I'm thinking about getting one on each forearm. (:

I have my Son's name (Ethan) above his zodiac sign (Leo) that's in a starburst with his D.O.B. under it on my right ankle. On my right side of body on my ribs I have his actual foot prints & his actual hand prints on the opposite rib cage. For baby #2 I will get feet & hand prints with my Son's & then add their name and zodiac probably to my shoulder as I've begun my families zodiac signs on a vine tree like thing down the left ankle down my foot. That's my entire immediate families signs, this way as more come into the picture all I gotta do is add a branch out for them. (:

you don't have to wait till you stop breastfeeding to get a tattoo! I got both my children's tattoos before I stopped breastfeeding and it had absolutely no effect on it.



Go with somewhere you can easily hide it with clothing, a lot of places look down on visible tattoos. I have my daughter's name with a butterfly on my left forearm, and my son's name in Angelic script around a set of tribal angel wings on my right shoulder. just depends on where you want it!

Make sure U pick an Amazing shop. Talk to people, make sure they are clean. U can pick the Best placement for that name and be Very unhappy with it.

I know this is way after your post but I have my son and my nephew's names tattooed on both inside wrists (son with a turtle, his name and birthdate and my nephew with a butterfly, his name and birthdate. I will treasure both always!!

I have my son's name tattooed on my back between my shoulder blades! I love it, I had it worked on by 3 different artists to get it just right, but it turned out great!!! I do Like the Idea of the hand print or footprint. I think that would be really cute.

I'm planning my tattoo for my daughter... Her Dad taught her to be a bit of a 'growly bear', so my plan is having one of her foot prints, and then a bear pawprint walking up my back with her name and birthdate near it? That way if I have more I can just add their prints (and animal print) to it!

I have a nine year old boy and five year old girl. I got there footprints from there baby book tatted on each rib. One rib hasmy girls footprint w her name and astrology sign inside of it and the other has my sons footprint w his name and sign in it. I chose this spot seeing as this is where I carried them for nine months

I believe it's where best represents your relationship with her. My son was who I leaned on the most during my divorce so his tattoo is on my left bicep. My daughter gave me the strength to walk away from two abusive relationships and change my life so we were never in that place again so her tattoo is going on my right calf. My newest is only 3 wks old so I'm still workin out the details of his tattoo including the location ... all I do know is that his tattoo will be a monkey. Good luck!

I recently got my son's handprint, which he did while fingerpainting, on the front part of my shoulder. I wasn't sure for the longest time what to get for him, wanted it to be a representation of who he is. I do agree with Elisa, I love wrist tattoos as well. Just go for the most meaningful to you though, & you may want to consider what you will do should you have any more children, if you want to do the same design for each.

there are just so many options out there that you could get a baby name tattoo almost anywhere! get creative

I got my child's named tattooed on my lower back written in sand. I added to an existing tattoo. However, I totally love the idea of getting your child's name tattooed on the inside of the wrist or baby feet on the shoulder blade. Good luck!
