Convertible car seat in a TINY car...

I drive a Suzuki SX4 and I love it- except for car seats! My husband is 6'2" and cannot have our infant seat behind him. When it is behind the passenger seat, I have to sit with the seat all the way forward. This is incredibly uncomfortable.

My daughter is just shy of outgrowing her infant seat in length and I am needing to switch her to a convertible. I am considering the Combi Corroco.

Does anyone use the Combi Corroco? If so, how does it fit in a small car? Do you like it?

Anyone else driving a Suzuki SX4? What type of car seat are you using?

I had a 08' Civic Coupe...ugh...two doors! What a pain! I delt with it when my daughter was in a bucket seat w/ a base. The only person who could sit in my passenger seat when she was in the car was my 5 ft mother. When it was time to move her into the rear facing convertable seat (there would be NO room for that) I had to get more of a "mommy" sized car. Hooray for 4 doors! :o) Good luck with what you choose. As much as I loved my Civic I am much happier and I know my lil' girl is safer being in a larger car (Acura TSX) that I can also have her positioned in the middle seat.

I used to drive a festiva and had a covertable car seat in it but it di sit right against the seat. If your baby is too big for her other seat she is probably big enough to have the seat facing the front anyway. Your car seat should not be fitted behind the drivers seat anyway because this is a hazard for getting your child out of the car. In Australia a baby seat is not allowed to be fitted behind the drivers seat if the seat behind the passenger is free. It can only be fitted in this possition if a car seat for a younger child is already occupying the one behind the passenger.

I don't think you are going to find a car seat that fits well in the back of any small car while it is rear facing. I have a Mustang and no one could ride in the passenger seat when the car seat was in. I had to drive my truck which has a back seat until we could turn the car seat around.
