Your situation reminds me of the three P's.
#1 -- Partner Dad looks good. Is he a partner or an appendage? When I look back on my sons' lives (age 23 and 21 now), I am so grateful that their father did all the medical stuff. It was gross, I wasn't very good at it, whatever. He took that aspect.
#2 -- Plan I had a list for the week's menus. I had a list for the kids. I had a to-do list for me. I don't make those lists any more, but I couldn't have survived back then.
#3 -- Party I am still enjoying my children now, largely because I spent time and enjoyed their company then. I see a mother ignoring her small children, and I see older children who can't get away from their parents fast enough. (Harry Chapin was right -- "Cats in the Cradle.") My favorite memories and still favorite times are dumb jokes or lines from movies shared by my sons and my siblings.
While you may feel crazy, don't forget to laugh it up! -- Carm
