I have heard great things about it, but have never used it....the school I am currently working at doesn't think penmanship is something to "waste time on".....believe me it drives me nuts!! I think I'm going to take the ball into my own hands this year and just do it!!

I think Handwriting without tears is great. There are also other programs by that company that work wonders.

Hi, it is a great program! My daughter's Kindergarten class used it and through out the years she has used it in OT and SPecial ed classes. She's 12 now and using it to help with cursive since school never taught it to her -- for her special needs it is working wonders!!! Love HWOT!!! You can buy it online or on ebay or find it at garage sales....

I have heard of this method but do not have firsthand experience with it. However, you might consider asking those who do at allkindsoflearners@yahoo.com, an online discussion group of homeschooling parents. It is an excellent group, free, and will offer you a wealth of resources and information.

I have heard that it works! My friend who teaches kdgn uses it. She says that the children enjoy it which is 99.9% of the battle!

I have taught it - it's very developmentally appropriate for prek, K, and making the transition to cursive. My school district where I work just adopted it for the fall for grades K-2. The school district my children attend adopted it 2 years ago. It works on pre-writing skills, has music and hands-on activities; I believe it's an amazing program.

yes we have used this in our preschool program. It comes with very small pencils which are designed to help little hands with proper holding and placement. It also comes with special booklets for the students to write in, practicing forming their letters correctly in fun ways.

Yes!! I have actually taught the program while I was student teaching in first grade. It's a great program, because it gives the kids little tricks to help them remember how to create the letters. Here's an example for the lower case letter e: hit the ball (the straight line) and run the bases (making the semi-circle).

We use it in our K-5 class and it really has improved the children's handwriting and helped them with basic letter formation.

I use HWOT to teach my third graders cursive. It's much easier than traditional or d'nealian. The students love it and pick it up easily. Their handwriting turns out beautiful too!

Yes, I have heard of this. I belive though you must order it online. It is supposed to help young kids with penmanship in a fun way!! If you google it, you'll get a link to view it and read more about it. some school districts also use it with primary grades (kgn-2nd).
