I have taught HS Spanish in WA for 16 yrs. I have 3 kids who aren't in school. I love my job but it is exhausting at the end of the day. So much grading. I am thinking of cutting back to 125 students next yr to cut down on my outside work.

How many students do you avg in your classes? Generally 30-33.

I teach HS science and I started the year with close to 200 students and now have around 160 after leveling/semester transfers. I also am having problems getting all my grading/planning done. I pump during my prep and after doing that and visiting the restroom I have little time left to accomplish anything. It makes me want to switch to formula, but I know how much better breastmilk is for my little guy.

I'm a high school math teacher as well.  Our school day ends at 2:26 pm and I usually put in an hour after school each day before I go home.  My rule when I returned to work after my second mat leave was that I would NOT take anything home.  I need that time to be with my girls.  I've been pretty good at following that, but I work like crazy during planning time and in my hour after school.

I have about 30-32 students in each of my classes-- it is exhausting at times. I am also a high school teacher (math), I teach 5 out of 6 periods a day, but during my s called planning I tutor students who need extra help with math during thier lunch-- so I guess technically I do not have planning.
