I think am crazy, now that I read that. I have a lot going on. How do other single mothers cope with teenagers who check-out of school and doing housework?

I'm a single mom of two, and I'm a third year Law student. It is so hard sometimes, and we have an attendance policy (miss more than four classes and not only did you just waste a few thousand dollars but all that work is out the window because you are out of the class!!!) I am on the Dean's list, fourth in my class, but it has been a rough go. We have one exam at the end of each class that is three hours long and one hundred percent of our grade, and of course the week before finals is the week that my kids misbehave after being good all semester!!!! I can tell you that during finals my house is a wreck. I do all major projects during the summer (such as cleaning closets) I live in an apartment because I cannot deal with lawns and things breaking while I'm in school. I tell my kids that I am making a better life for us all, and that they will simply have to be patient with me, and I can say that my kids are my biggest cheerleaders. When I got my only C in law school (a c plus actually lol) my son was the one who came to me and said, "It's okay mom, you can't be perfect all the time, and we love you even if you got a D we'd still love you"

I know what you mean! I went to grad school when my kids were little but it was still nuts. I just let housework go during that time and coped with grad school, my kids, and food.

It is rather exhausting, sometimes... it is difficult to separate, at times. Stay positive... and enjoy the ride!
