thank you for inviting me to join. Lately I feel that I am in control of my life...perfectly fine, however, I at times have some guilt thrown at me from my family ---mom and husband. they say things like the kids need you, and I do not understand what that means...when I am home--I AM HOME, i play with the kids, we read, we go outside, and where I go they go...are people --my husband and mother--really projecting their need for me to be home with guilt...I think I would die if I stayed home---It's not who I am...I am in grad school also, I run, I play tennis, prctice Yoga...and I am just go go go...

Hey thaks ladies for your kind words...My kids just went to the gym with me this past Monday night---I had tennis, and my son got his own locker for the first time, and he is learing independence and he loves the whole gym thing also. So i guess as I do my thing I am teaching my children to find their thing...I remember needing more space as a child...Thank you for your kindness ladies, and my friend has suggested a support group for moms locally, and it is going to be for moms that work and have guilt...so looks like guilt is part of being a mom these day...NAMASTE!

Good for you. They say if you are not happy then noone will be. Take care of yourself first. Keep doing what you are doing especially if you are feeling like life is in control.

Sounds like you are involved in a variety of things, and if you are still putting your kids first -- like you said when you're home, you're HOME.....then you are probably doing the right thing! There's a difference between what we might choose to do in a perfect world (if money wasn't an object) and what we want to do to have personal fulfillment as well. If you are a teacher and in grad school as well, then you obviously have personal goals as well as family priorities. If your kids were babies, I could see how family pressure and guilt could get frustrating, because it's easier to consider staying home. But if they are older, then your family's pressure doesn't make as much sense. I think I would go crazy staying home as well......the summer is enough to make me go nuts -- I'm always working on something! If you feel the same way, don't give in -- just do what you think is best for yourself and your kids! :)
