I have taught special education for all of my career. Currently I am teaching severly handicapped and autistic children in a special school and I am in my 20th year teaching. You have to be able to leave your job at the door to the house and keep your family a focus when you are home. It is hard but now that my kids are teenagers see that my career has not deprived me of time with them but it has also made them better, more compassionate people.
