Audrey is in the first grade, too. Her birthday is in July so we gave her three full years of preschool before we started kindergarten. She is spending between 60 and 80% of her day in the regular classroom. She is still having trouble with math but that will come too. Speech is her biggest delay right now. I will be finishing my Master's in the summer so good luck with that. The hardest part is finding time and the motivation for studying when there are so many needing so much.

My son is 6 and is in 1st grade! I also have a gifted son of 11 with ADHD and a 15 year old daughter whom is dyslexic. Life for me is very interesting. I'm seriously thinking about a Masters as an Intervention Specialist and take the classes to be certified as a Behaviorist. It just a lot of classes!

PPCD stands for Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities. I teach 3-5 year olds whom either have Down Syndrom, Autism, Developmentally Delayed or Speech Impaired. I love it! Although some days with 10 in my room it gets kind of crazy!!

Hi Shelia, I teach the Behavioral and Emotionally Challenged at the high school level and I have 7 year old daughter with Down Syndrome and a 12 year old gifted daughter with ADHD. How old is your son?

I have a degree in Special Ed and Elementary. I had taught Leaning Support before I had my daughter who has Down syndrome, stayed at home for 11 years with her and my other 2 children, and just recently went back to work. I am now a reading teacher. What is PPCD?
