During the summer I play with my daughter and work my part time job as a Pampered Chef consultant. I was wondering what other moms who are teachers spend their summers doing.

I usually try to plan out the first month of school. I also attempt to complete 1 renovations project in the house, other than that just spend time with my children, and read as much for pleasure as possible to make up for the school year! We're planning one weekend in a major city, and many camping trips. My goal is to teach my 7 year old to swim this summer. This year I'm going to babysit for one child as well. Should be good, to mix up the dynamics of my own children.

I try to take my kids on 1 short trip then spend the rest of the time catching up on things that I haven't been able to do. I also just try to enjoy my kids!

I'm hoping to spend a lot of time with my two daughters, maybe do some home tutoring. They're signed up for dance lessons, art lessons, and Vacation Bible School. I need to teach my almost 6-year-old to swim. We'll spend time cooking, going to the library, and going to the local Children's Hands-On Museum. I also want to get my house more organized, work on scheduling for next school year (I'm a special ed teacher), do some prof dev, and visit the beach. Hopefullly a fun and busy summer!

I usually take some trainings offered through my school district. I also catch up on home repairs and renovations. This summer we will paint the entire interior of our home. We also spend a week or two at the beach and visit museums or other attractions with our two daughters. I usually go back to work a week earlier than I am required to so I can set up my classroom. I get out June 9th and have to be back on August 17.

I don't get a summer break lol. It would be nice to have on though! I teach preschool at a daycare so they are there all summer long.

for 2 years, i took classes to finish my credential. the summer i was pregnant, we did a bit of travel, and i helped my school with placement testing. i did one summer of teaching for an enrichment program.

i don't know what i'll do when it's a more "normal" summer, with no school, no pregnancies (i'm pregnant now, so i'll be nesting), and no traveling! i'll probably take classes again. :o)

I do not teach summer school. By teh time summer hits I am in need of a major break. During the summer I try to spend as much time as I can with my 3 kids. We swim, play outside, go camping and go to my sisters in the Hill Country. This year I will be helping out a neighbor and watching her two children. That should be fun. Hope everyone has an awesome summer.

We stay very busy. My daughter goes to zoo camp. There are also vacations and vacation bible school. We also try to hit alot of the free/cheep activities that we can - museums, events at the library, $1 movies. The kids love it and so do I!

Here in the UK, where the sun does not always shine, I teach most weeks for a day or two doing arts, crafts and languages to the dance and drama school that my children belong to. I find this very weird as I am used to teaching older teenagers not little babies, so i have to have different lesson plans for each group. My children and I spend the rest of our time at the Gym, in the park, visisting places and if we are very lucky we sunbathe!

I teach summer school during the month of June. I cannot stay at home. I guess I am a teach-a-holic! HAHA! I have three daughters, 19, 17, and 8. The older two have things of their own to do and they help watch the youngest. We use the extra check to purchase all of our back-to-school needs. I July with my husband and kids in our pool.

I tried just staying home, it didn't work for me or my daughter. I have returned to a summer day camp where I had been an art teacher for several years. I am the art director there and my daughter comes with me. She is in her own group, there are are ponies, swim lessons, nature trails, games, and huge playground. We absolutely love it.
