Where is everyone from
Hi Amanda and everyone else... We are originally from New Zealand and have relocated to Brunei Darrusalam in January 2009. I am a single mum (my son Liam has just turned 5) and have moved here for a job teaching English to 4,5,6 year olds in the government schools.

I'm from Missouri also! Springfield here! I worked as a SpEd para for Springfield Public Schools for several years and also taught music (piano, choirs, music club) at a Boys and Girls Club for 3 years. I'm currently just teaching piano privately. I love teaching but hate the politics!

I am a substitute teacher in a small suburb near St. Louis.
I am certified for teaching 1-6 in Missouri but I have really enjoyed substitute teaching 8th grade. And I know exactly what you mean about having enough energy and patience at the end of the day for your own family. It can be rough. Subbing is working out pretty well for me though. This way I can do the job I love without all the politics, lesson plans, and discipline calls to parents . . . and grades . . . and conferences . . . well you get the idea. :)

Hi! I'm from Boyup Brook in Western Australia. Not currently teaching. Have 3 girls 2,4 & 6 yrs and live on a farm so that keeps me pretty busy. Not sure yet if I'm going to return to teaching.
Mostly taught junior primary in schools all over WA including Leonora, Cunderdin, Southern Croos, Katanning and Harvey

I live in Lakeville MN (considred a suburb of the Twin Cities). We love it here, so much to do and see. I teach special education in Farmington, about 15 min away. Currently I work in teh birth-2 program visiting chidlren's homes. Next year they are moving me (with out asking mind you) to the sever multiple needs preschool with 3 and 4 yr olds. I haven't worked with kids that low since my student teaching, this should be interesting. Guess I can't complain, I kept a job when there were lots and lots of cuts. But I sure will miss my babies! I really love that initial contact with parents and families and helping them learn how to help their baby.

I'm Schelly. I teach in a small rural town in eastern Iowa, about 45 minutes from the Mississippi River. I've lived in the same county my whole life, but looking forward to traveling around the country with my husband when I retire. :-)
