That means most of us are going to have a 3 day weekend!!! Does anyone have any plans? We are still undecided about going. The baby's birthday is May 7th and our other daughter's birthday is May 21st, plus we're planning a mid-August wedding. So much to do! Well, I hope we get to go. Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of the summer. Oh, I can't wait for this cold weather and these rainy days to go away for a while. I like the rain, don't get me wrong, but ITS MAY NOW! I want flowers, warm air, cool breezes, bbq's, bonfires, and campsites!

I was never so disappointed in my life. I wasn't smart enough to make reservations so I drove to the park 1 1/2 hours after they opened up the first come first serve sites (on Thursday) and they were already all gone. There was not an opening around for miles so I ended up just coming home.

I do have reservations though for Father's day weekend. I still have almost everything packed from the last time so it shouldn't be such a hassle to pack (I have all of my camping dishes washed and checked out again etc.).

We will be going to a state park for the weekend. My one son is taking one of his sisters to a mud run but I don't really want to expose her to all of the evening activities so we compromised. I said that she could go but she had to be back with us in the evening. I even made it easier for him by camping close to where he will be.

I know how you feel about the rain and cold. I have at least had a few fires in my firepit while the kids roasted marshmellows for s'mores and I made popcorn in my new old fashioned popcorn popper (I always try to test things at home before using them in the field). I finally got my flowers planted this weekend so I do have some color around the yard and I have a couple of bushes in the back that are starting to bloom. I can hardly wait to get out though and stop looking at the same four walls all the time.
