Favorite baby-related patterns?

[deleted account] ( 9 moms have responded )

I've been knitting mostly blankets, but I just started working on variants of a sleep sack pattern I saw on Knitty (Zodiac, Fall 07), and I'm loving it.

What else can I try that's interesting but not so hard I won't be able to handle it through Pregnancy Brain? :->

El, 30 weeks and counting.

i thinkl the best crochet magagzine that i have seen so far is crochet today. anything from baby patterns to pet patterns and adult patterns. there are also patterns for jewelry. the directions along with supplies that are needed are available for every pattern . you can purchase this magazine at newsstands or supermarkets. is great

I would suggest that you sign up to join ravelry.com as it is a knitting based community and crocheting one too, and it takes a few days to become a member which is free, but it has every pattern you can ever think of in there, and most of the projects have photos too so you can see how different knitters use different yarns and colors. I am sure you will find something lovely to knit up.

Hi,

The BEST baby book that I've found for really beautiful and fairly simple patterns is Itty Bitty Nursery by Susan B. Anderson. She also has another book called Itty Bitty Hats that is adorable as well. Both books have my mind thinking about almost nothing else!! I have ideas galore now of things I want to knit! Congratulations on your baby to be!!

Baby washclothes, hats, and booties are always nice to knit & don't require too much effort.  You can make the hats & booties in varying sizes so when baby grows out of one set, you'll have another one ready.

Question : I looked at that pattern also.  Is there any way to knit it from the top down?  Found a sweater pattern for top down, but I am unsure how to reformat it to baby size.

Congrats on the new little one.

My latest favorite baby thing is the bunny snuggy from lion brand's website.  There are directions to knit and crochet.  I made a green one for a baby shower gift and I'm almost done making a purple one for my daughter for easter.  The only change I made was putting yellow on the middle part of the ears.  I also used a different yarn that I had.  It is very cute and cuddly.

I like almost anything from Jane Davis. She has a baby knit and a baby crochet book out there. I've made a few things from Simple Crochet for Cherished Babies by her.
Congrat, btw.
