I have been crocheting since I was about 8. I'm now 52. I always have some kind of project going on. I like to make baby clothes the best. Every time a friend or co-worker has a baby, I get the chance to make a new project. My favorite are Christening gown, hat, booties, and blanket set.

i also think it relaxes me i am from a big family an it is getten gigger i learned how to crochet in school but did no more till around 2000 i started maken afgans for special times baby,christmas,grad,an grad. collage, annivercy. an one double wedden ring for my daughter. i have made lots i am also behind .i take pic,s of all i make an put in a book with who what for an if thay liked it. i am left handed an i have trouble with the afganstich carol

Same here - last week I finished a scarf and a hat for my 7.5 yr old and right now I am working on a pair of mittens for her. My first ever hat and mitten projects, up till last week I'd only ever crocheted or knitted either scarves or 8" squares.

I also made a blanket for my children when they were babies. My firstborn (a daughter now 31 years old) had one I crocheted and her brother (now 29) got one that I quilted. I kept them safe while they were starting their lives and grown-ups and will soon send them to my granddaughters (they each have one girl).

There are no words to describe the blessings I have received to be able to this as a grandma. Over the course of my lifetime I learned to sew and crochet. I've tried other needlecrafts, but always come back to these as the most relaxing. congratulations for creating a tradition for your family!

I LOVE to crochet, it's very relaxing for me. I have only been crocheting scine Jan so almost a year now. I'm not really great at it but I'm practicing when I can. I have completed a scarf for my 3 year old and am almost done with the one for my 4 year old. I'm also working on a granny square blanket for my mom.

I spell within my crochet as well. I love it, it relaxes me and keeps me sane, I think. I crochet while I watch TV. Mom taught me idle hands are the devils tool. I am a Mom to 5 grandma to 2.

I love to crochet also. I am new to it- olying been doing so since Jan of this yr. I am a mother of 4ages- 10,9,5,3 and I have 3step- ages13,9,10 - I try to squeeze it in when I can bu it is so hard. I did finish a blanket for my only girl the 3yrold - but want to try different pattrens, not sure how can you sugges somthing

I jsut finished a granny square sweater for my 6 month old...just made up the pattern. I have so many patterns for things, especially sweaters and usually end up making up my own thing. I am so thrilled to have a little girl now to crochet for. Can't do all that much for a boy. Although, I do plan on making a backpack for my son who starts preschool in the fall.

I make most gifts. Sometimes it's hard to tell if people really appreciate things, though. It's better when they ask for something specific.

I make blankets too. Been reciently working on a bigger blanket for myself. Lapghan sized. I like making different thiings. I've even been working on crocheting with wire. Sofar so good with that, lol.

Any suuggestions on where i could donate little things to pre schools?

Just this evening I started crocheting a blanket that I intend to donate to Project Linus.  I taught myself to crochet as a teen and have been crocheting off-and-on ever since.  Crocheting is relaxing and I find it's a good way to spend time while waiting, watching TV or having a conversation with someone.  I don't know, I'm just one of those people who needs to keep her hands moving.

I love to crochet! I learned how when I was 14. I make hats and scarves mostly and some blankets for baby gifts. I am the mother of six, so I crochet after the kids are in bed for the night.

Both of my girls have an afghan that I made for them. For Christmas a few years back I gave table runners to my inlaws and hats and scarfs to the kids. Last year I made shawls for everyone. I've made ponchos, grocery bags, backpacks, purses, and cup huggers to decorate casino cups that I used for stuff on my desk. I tried my hand at doilies but haven't got my tension right so they wont lay flat yet.

Ravelry is awesome! Yep, a lot of free patterns there. I also belong to Crochetville.com. So many nice ladies there too as well as lots of patterns and help if you need it

You can go on line and get free patterns for both crochet and knitting. I've had to search thru a bunch of patterns to find those I can do or that I want to do based on my skill level. Good luck in your search and I'm envoius that you can knit a sweater! Good Luck

I have blankets that were made for my girls when they were babies and they will always make wonderful keepsakes (they can even use them for their children if they choose). It's always made with love and I'm sure your children will appreciate them as they get older

i do baby blankets, standard throws and for xmas this year, i made pillow covers. crocheting always seems to relax me.
