thing that you have made since you have started knitting/crocheting?

Right now I'm most proud of the blanket that I am working on for my mom, it's a granny square blanket.

I am a beginner, but so far my favorite project was a windy city scarf. It has a hole in one end used to pull the end through. It was from Stitch n' Bitch, and the yarn was Classic Elite, so it was very soft. I also like the stretchy quality of the 1x1 rib stitch. I gifted it to my sister-in-law for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. My sister requested one just like it.

I think the most meaningful was the set of baby blankets I crocheted - one for my son, and a bear-shaped afghan for my sister's son. A close second is the sampler afghan I made for my college roommate's wedding - it took forever, but I got it done, and she almost cried when I gave it to her, so it really meant a lot to me that she liked it so much.

I crocheted a blanket for my daughter that turned out much better than I ever could have anticipated, and she LOVED it (thank goodness!). I just love seeing her cuddling her blankie, after all the work that went into it.

I also knit matching elf hats for my kids this winter, which they love wearing, and I like that my efforts are keeping their heads & ears warm :)

That's great that you crochet squares for a good cause. I have been thinking about things like that, that I can do to help others.

8" squares that I've crocheted for the church to put into blankets for the needy & homeless.

I LOVE granny square blankets! I made one for my son, and he absolutely HAS to have it wherever he goes. It warms my heart to hear him say, "bankick", just to make sure it's near by.
