Has anyone ever played futsal soccer? My daughter was invited to play in a tournament outside of Lexington, KY Saturday. It is a 3v3 indoor futsal soccer tournament. I've looked up information on it and so far what I know is that the ground played on is rubberized and the ball is weighted. If anyone or your child has played this type of soccer game, please give me some advice to give to her.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

I love futsal! My girls have been playing it for 3 years now and if the truth be known, I'm starting to prefer it to regular soccer. I've only seen games with referees but if you can get any oportunity to play it, do. It's recognised worldwide as a great tool for improving footskill and split decision making skill....both required to be a better player on the field :) Many a professional will say that it's thanks to futsal that they have their skill.

The 5v5 is what I have read on the internet. But they are doing 3v3, which are 2 games Liz has not played before. She did do 3v3 last weekend, but it was just to help some younger girls prepare for a tournament they will be doing in January in Orlando. There wasn't any refs it was mainly for the younger girls to warm up. What I've gotten from this tournament is that there will be refs, the games last 24 minutes without breaks, however when a ball is to be kicked in (no throw ins) then they can sub. Thanks for responding.

Kara plays it. It is a very fast game. Here, there are no refs or coaches so the girls play themselves. There is not much fouling and rough play is not encouraged at all! If there should happen to be a foul it is up to the players to call. All out of bounds balls are kicked in from the place they left field. No chipping. It's just must faster paced and the girls are resonsible for themselves and their teammates. Kara's the goalie for 5v5 - in 5 games she was shot on 124 times so that';s how much quicker the game is played.
