So my daughter is afraid of monsters (she has never seen a scary movie, I don't know where she got it from) and every night I have a routine so she will go to sleep. I have to lay her in bed, go to the cabinet in the bathroom grab the "monster spray" and spray her room with it (a spray bottle filled with scented water), and tuck her in. Another thing is a normal night light is not enough she has to have a lamp on with the night light. Any suggestions as to how to get her more comfortable in the dark without the monster spray and 75 watt lamps at night?

My son was afraid of monsters for a while, and still gets a bit freaked out if his closet door is open when he goes to bed. We didn't have monster spray, but I did "yell" at the monsters. I told them they had to get out of our house, they weren't allowed in anymore. I would walk to the front door, shoo them out and shut the door. This actually worked after three or four nights!! He also has a light on in his room. It's a Lightning McQueen on with a night light bulb, and the hall light is on. When I go to bed, the lights go out. It may help for her to tell the monsters to "get out". That's what I had my guy do when he would revert back and he hasn't had any issues in quite some time.
