you have to be kidding me, 10mths and still no speech therapy! My daughter started speech therapy at 2mths once a month, and at age of 6mths it was changed to once a week. You need to talk to your coordinater and get speech started. Yes they dont say words at this age but they babel, make sounds. Speech therapy also helps them with eating issues and if the tongue sticks out the therapist can also help with that. My daughter is almost nine yrs old and is starting to put sentences together. You dont know how much of a delay your child will have, so dont assume they will talk soon. My daughter has a friend in her class same age and doesnt say anything but mama and papa!

I wasn't sure how her case worker determined if shes going to need speech therapy or not. I was told most likely she would need it.

why are you considering speech therapy at this age? my son is 19 months old and has only recently started saying a few words. they all learn in their own way in their own time.
