Hi there
I am currently working for FM Fragrances and Cosmetics , they sell perfumes, aftershaves, cosmetics, candles and household products such as cleaning materials etc. The commission is great, basically whatever u sell you get 33 percent commission from the sale. It works a little like Avon where u get brochures to give to customers however I find FM fantastic. With regards to set up costs its free to join, the brochures cost approx 50 pence, I bought a starter perfume sample kit which cost me approx £10 but not compulsory I just bought it to let potential customers smell the samples. Anyway I'll stop going on about it lol! I am currently doing a few things from home.

My main passion is sharing the essential oils that I use for my family. The company I am with is a direct sales company, so I receive commissions from them when I share with family, friends, strangers, etc.

I'm also working on learning to sew better, so that I can do alterations/maternity sewing, cloth menstrual pads, or whatever people in my area need.

I have several other hobbies, but those are the ones I am focusing on for making money. I would also like to learn to make soaps to sell, but that is a little ways off.

As to the "start up fees," with my doTERRA membership, is was $35 for a year's wholesale membership (25% off of everything). Then I can earn from retail sales, sign up commissions, monthly bonuses, etc. With the sewing, my husband bought me a serger for my birthday, then I bought a new sewing machine 'cause I didn't know how to fix my other one yet. I already had fabrics, thread, notions, etc.

There are TONS of videos on Youtube on making things at home. If you can make something people need, and it is unique, practical, usable, nice looking, you have a better chance of being successful.

Here are some other things I want to learn to make:

Bar soap, liquid soap

Laundry soap

Custom placemats/table runners

Lap quilts

Baby clothes

I need to learn a lot more about alterations and sewing in general, but from what I've seen, alterations can be pretty pricey, which would work out good for me, if I can learn to do them. :-)
