a little bit of brightness for you. my little sister has bi polar, plus multiple personality thingy. and she managed to quit smoking, drinking and doing drugs.. and im so proud of her. she managed to do all this by talking to advisers and councilors. maybe this could be your next step.. explain to them your worries and concerns. and i wish you all the best. and have faith in yourself, you are stronger then you think.

Hi,

I also get really stressed out when i try stop smoking. What i've been trying is to have my first smoke an hour later every day. The early morning one with coffee was the hardest to beat. Now i go until 12pm until my first one. It seems a little more bearable. Hope this helps. All the best. :-)

what kind of antidepressents do you take? i am on them too, and i just had mine switched to welbutrin because it can sometimes cause you to quit smoking.

Of course, switching to it may not be an option for you because of what you take for anxiety or because it's the wrong kind, or because your meds are working well for you, but i would still consider asking. :)

i wish you the best of luck, and success. i'm having the same thing too, with feeling grossed out every time i light one. i try to use that as a reason to not smoke much of it and put it out. that has helped me cut down some. maybe that would help you too

Hi Rebecca,

i've never been in the situation  you are in, so i can't offer much. The only suggestion i would have is to try and go longer and longer without a cig. Let's say if you smoke every hour, try to go every two hours, then every three and so on. Or even just limit your smokes to two or three a day then one a day. Eventually one time when you go to have one it will make you almost sick and not wanting it anymore. I would recommend having something to do with your hands, or lollipops, lifesavers, etc to help with the jitters.

again, i'm sorry i can't offer much. I wish you luck and my prayers
