They might be worried about how this will affect your daughter. I have a boyfriend and 2 kids. I've known this guy for 3 1/2 years. My kids love him and he loves them. There is nothing that he wouldn't do for them. I agree that you should talk to your family about him and find out their concerns. Then also show them how much your boyfriend and daughter get along and enjoy each other's company.

They are probably just concerned for you and your kids. You never go into a relationship thinking that it won't work out, but they are probably thinking the what if's. Depending on how long you have known him, and been with him. It is hard for kids to adapt to someone, and your family is probably thinking if it doesn't work out, and the kids are attached, it could really affect the kids. My family was a bit weary of my boyfriend when I told them that we were pregnant, but only time can prove to them that he is an OK guy. My family loves him to death, now!

I would start by asking them "why" they don't trust him. If they come up with real reasons then you have answer each reason; if they can't then you need to stand up to them and tell them they need to get over it and that this is the person you're with.

I delt with this when I started dating my hubby (I was getting a divorce from my ex). My parents got it out of their system and then where fine.
