My bub got constipated on a brand of formula at 4 months, but my local child health nurse suggested to put in one tablespoon of brown sugar to approx 200mls of warm water so the sugar can dissolve. nly do this once in a blue moon. it can be done to adults to so if u find yourself constipated it should work. if not, there's always treatment over the counter if the dr's are not helpful

My daughter is 14months and has had the same prob pretty much her whole life, the health nurse told me to give her prune juice to drink but i could not get her to drink it... every morning i gave her rice cereal (weetbix now that shes older) and use prune juice to mix it instead of water or milk it looks like brown slop but she eats it and problem solved, i have run out of prune juice a couple of times and just a few days without it and she is constipated again so as long as she eats that for breaky everyday she is fine....I also have a 4 yr old who was constipated as a baby and gave her prune juice too she was easy though and would drink it for me LOL.

what is her diet? If this is a recent thing it could be due to something she is eating. Baby apples are good for constipation or small amounts of prune juice. Perhaps dilute prune juice in some water and put a small amount in her bottle.

If you are still breast feeding if you eat prunes, kiwifruit, licorice or anything that helps you digest food it will help her also.

If your still worried about it I would keep harassing the dr's. My baby sister has a major problem with constipation and she has to have enimas :( she's only 18 months old

It sounds as though she might have hard stool. Have you noticed how it looks when it does come out? I would talk to the doctor about the possibility of using a formula that might could assist with this.
