she'll say wee wee and poo poo and go and get the potty and sit on it, but she'll only stay on it for a few mins then gets off and ends up having an accident on the floor and getting upset. any suggestions to what might help?

well my daughter was doing the same at about 20 months and i didn't act soon enough and missed her enthusiasm window and now it is some what of a chore to take her to the toilet as she'd rather be playing!

so definately act on it now and maybe try letting her read books on there or eating a snack etc (i know it soulds gross but its not like every man and their dog use that potty) and then hopefully before she's even realised whats happened she's done a wee or poo in the potty! distraction is a good way to avoid an accident. i found it helped me, and of course set up a sticker reward system with a chart for every time she does go in the potty, maybe where visitors can see so they can praise her when they come over!

Praise is also a good motivator! hope this helped :)

have u tryed the sticker system. every time she waqnts the potty sit her on the potty giving her loads of encouragement and talking to her ask her questions like have u had a wee on the potty yet just tke ur time tell her if she manages to stay on and have a wee giver her a sticker. or create a sticker chart which ever suits her even wen she does a wee giver her a sticker and then put a stiker on her sticker chart. just keep giving her lots of encouragement and talkeing to her tellimh her to take her time. but definatly try the sticker chart. hope this helps this is what i do in the nursery i work in. gud luck
