...I am 21 years old. I have an 8 month old baby girl & 2 weeks ago I went back to work after 9 months off on maternity leave. Since I went back to work, so many people have said to me, 'I bet you miss her & worry all the time & always phone the nursery to check on her!' & well, I do miss her a lot. But I don't worry bout her, she is in the safest hands & why should I phone every ten minutes?

Am I a bad Mum for wanting to go back to work? Am I bad Mum for not worrying about my baby all the time? Am I a bad mum for not checking in on her every 5 minutes?

I know so many girls of similar ages who have babies, I one of only 2 who have ever even had a job let alone gone back to work after having a baby!! Surely that makes me a good mum? Am I alone in this way of thinking!?

No, I was the same way. If you feel safe enough to leave your children with whoever is watching them then what's the need to call every 5 mins? Missing and worrying are two different things. I think what you are feeling is normal. Obviously the people that have to call 10 times in an hour to see if their child is safe don't really think the people taking care of them are capable of handling the situation. But then again, some mothers do have attachment issues and they really don't like to leave their babies with anyone and it gives them anxiety. I think both are normal to be honest.

Do what you think is right.

I think you are doing well- it means you are comfortable with her childcare arrangement. Some mothers do not do well as SAHMs, but they are able to spend quality time as opposed to just quantity time with the children when they are together. Working or not working does not a good mother make.

YOU PROBABLY JUST TRUST WHERE SHE IS AT AN THAT IS GREAT!!! It is good you can relax at work that does nott make you a bad mom at all. I have to go back to work in October I dont want to leave my kids but I do enjoy my work. Great on you for providing for your little girl and we all need a tiny break from ur kids now and then so you can appreciate them a bit more . vvgghujk7utytytggthhhhjtgttrgvccv vvvvbgghbbnh
