Hello, I have a 2 year old son...and he loves to sit on the potty...love it! Likes to point at his business and pull the toliet paper roll...after I tell him a 1000 times no Noah don't do that honey...But the problem as much as he sits there he hasn't one time gone 1 or 2 on it! It's little potty he's not scared of it...but is there anything I can do to help him maybe go on it?? Any advice I don't know exactly what i'm asking but any advice??

Put some cheerios in the pot and tell him to aim for them! lol we did that for fun. But in all seriousness, you need to put him on the toilet every 30 to 45 minutes. The the first time goes, give him a treat. it can be a toy, a healthy snack he has never had before. But make sure its something new or he's just gonna think your crazy lol.

have you tried giving him something to drink while he's sitting on the potty or running the water? we just started potty training our 2 year old son last week and so far so good. we usually try right after he's eaten or drank something. hope this helps somewhat. good luck!

i know how you feel, my son is four now but he has been potty trained since he was two. what i did was i put my son on the toilet every half hour, even if he didnt have to go, then after he either used the potty or not i gave him a little prize like a candy, or a healthy snack something they like, that got in his mind hey everytime i sit on the potty i get a treat. then soon he started going to the potty more frequently then eventually he started going on his own. try that, it worked for me i hope it works for you.

I have a 7 yr. old son and a 2 1/2 yr old. The oldest i put underware on him and he wasnt to happy weting himself. If there is a male figure let them help boys respond easier to a male since it is hte same stuff. Get him to sit down while doing both duties, it is easier for them. My youngest, i put him on it every hour and he will go even if i sit there for a couple mins, however getting them to tell you is alittle harder. Just let them know they cant ware "big boy underware" until they tell you they have to go potty.

Good tips.

My three year old son will only go to the toilet when he has no undies on - so is often runinng around the house half naked, something we can not do when out and about for obvious reasons. As soon as he has undies or his trousers on he will poop in them. He knows how to pull his pants down as he does this with #1's fine.

I have tried star charts, a sweet or sticker as reward, choosing his own undies, plenty of praise and have even put Spongebob and transformer posters in the toilet room to make it a fun place.

My next plan of action is a 'surprise' bowl. Everytime he goes (pants off to begin with) he will be allowed to dig his hand deep into a bowl and choose a surprise. I am thinking little stickers, little healthy treats or toys. Is bribery really going to work though?

Quoting Nichole:

I have 3 boys 1 is completely potty trained we let him pick out his favorite kind of underwear ( transformers) and we told him that they did not like to have pee pee or poopy on them and he finally went but that was at age 4 he did not want to go before that. we tried everything from sinking the cheerios to giving him a piece of candy if he would go. Stickers the whold nine yards.. Boys are extremely hard to potty train now I have 2 more boys that I need to get to go potty yeah me. I hope that picking out underwear helps.

We have a 6year old son and a 20 motnh old son. The 20 month old has already gone potty 3 times. Although he ahsn't in a while... Let them watch eachother. They seem to learn better that way... peer training lol
