We took our 2 yr. old potty shopping. We let her pick out a little potty and we keep it in the living room. (sounds gross, but it worked!) and when she goes, we make a big deal out of it, with high fives and hugs, and dump it into the "big potty" and let her flush. I think it's less intimidating. I will put my finger on her lower abdomen and tell her to "push from right here". I also let her in to watch me, so she has an idea of what you are supposed to do- sometimes telling them isn't enough. Good luck! just keep in mind that she won't be going to high school in diapers. She will catch on. :)

I have 4 kids and i tried and tried to train my oldest it took almost a yr to do it, for my second i didn't push it my husband would take him in with him but not make him go and one day he woke up and just went and was trained, my 3rd child just turned 3 and when she was 2 her gma and others tried to train her but the more they pushed the more she would hold it and scream if they put her on. After a couple months of them fighting with her i told them enough about 6 months later she was completely trained on her own and doesn't even need to wear pull ups to bed.

When a child is ready they will do it. I feel bad for my oldest because i pushed her and she held it and she ended up with bladder infections because of it and 7 yrs later she still gets them, its to the point that she doesn't even know when she has them she doesn't feel any pain. I tell you that because holding the pee can cause damage and i would not want any mother or child to go through this

has she EVER peed in the potty? I work with 2 year olds at a center and it has surprised me how afraid some of them are the first time they do go in the toilet.

I have brought books into the bathroom with them to read and kind of distract them while they just sit there and sooner or later they can't hold it anymore and just go.

my daughter was the same so i took her shopping to pick her own undies and really stressed bout what a big girl she was to not wear nappies any more. i still used a nappie for sleep times which was hard to get her back into the undies for a little while but with in a week she'd cry when i put the nappy on but yeah i really advise the undies shopping you might need to buy more then you want but it really helped. good luck
