Alexander used to spit up - sometimes he was a little volcano. He's stop because he had a burp but I wasn't adept at reading his signals so I'd get him back on. Sometimes he'd burp and he'd practically detonate all over the place. :) Other times he'd burp and I'd put him back on and all was well, other times we couldn't burp him so he'd wake up screaming in pain. Burping was always a process of figuring out which direction and position the bubble needed to move so over the shoulder, on his side laying down, sitting up leaning forward... takes practice!

So if you're breastfeeding, especially if you hear heavy gulping at the start of the feed, you may need to interrupt the feeding to burp baby then put him back on.

And yes, sometimes they spit up because they ate too much.

no all babies spit up some of their milk if you stop then then you'll find him wanting more after an hour. he'll let you know when he's had enough and will refuse to have more.

My daughter is the same way she would spit up after every feeding and I mean alot of spitting up her doctor told me she had reflux.. Try holding him in an upright position, also try to burp him as often as possible and after a feeding keep him in an up right position for about 30 mins.. I put my daughter in her bouncy seat after i'm finishing burping it helps.. I also breastfeed so I hope this helps you. I know that it is a pain in the butt.. Good luck..

I have breastfed three kids (on my third right now), spitting up doesn't mean they're done. Maybe got too much air from crying before you started feeding him, or he just may need to burp. He'll let you know when he's done!
