Sometimes my 2 year old wont nap. I need time to clean so she has "quiet time" during her nap time. she "reads" or watches a movie. it at least gives me enough time to do a few things. to put your kids on a schedule- the best thing i can say is be consistent. it's tough at times (believe me!) but when the kids get used to it, it's a big help. why dont you make a "chore chart" to have your kids help out as well? they can pick up toys, put clothes in laundry basket, etc. that may help out some too and teach them some responsibility and they can help! good luck.

I think the best way to make a schedule is to start doing it and do not give up if it does not work the first few times. I like the quite time idea, we do the same thing with our three year old daughter and two year old son. My son takes good naps and my daughter, she sits and watches her one movie while our son sleeps. Coloring also works really really well to keep them out of your hair (with out the TV crutch). We sit our daughter up to the kitchen table with crayons and a coloring book and give our son some of his cars and they will sit there and be calm and play for like an hour.

Good luck! I hope this helped a little.

With warmest wishes,

Sara

Quiet time is always good. Even if they dont nap just to lay down or read books for a while.
