I have a 5 and 2 year old and they both go to bed between 730-8 and it seems to work for them. There usually up between 7-8 am. I found if they got to bed later then that there very over tired and cranky.

My two yr old goes to bed anywhere between 8 and 9pm and is usually up between 7:30 and 8am the next morning. He also takes about an hour or hour and a half nap after lunch. He will be starting preschool this fall though so I am going to have to get him in routine of waking up closer to 7am.

When they were younger it was 8:30 no matter what. my kiddos get up pretty early no matter what time they go to bed my daughter has had the same bedtime and wake up time since she was 6 mths old 8:30 till 6:30 she is now 8 years old

mine is in bed by 8pm and gets up at 7 am, but this is merely because my daughter will be starting school in the fall and i keep them both on the same schedule.

I put my daughter to bed at 8:30 at the latest, she's 27 months and we moved her into a bed so she is still getting used being able to get out of bed, because it's going into summer it's still light out when we put her to bed, I tell her she can play, but she has to do it quietly, but she is in her bedroom until the morning. She get's up usually between 8:30 and 9:30 (I don't let her stay in bed longer) usually she gets up and plays for a half an hour. and if she stayed up to late she will go to her room and have a nap. There are odd times when I let her stay up past 8:30 but there are special reasons and she knows the minute she starts to get an attitude it's off to bed. I work nights, and could get home anywhere between 12:30am and 1:30am depending on the season so I can handle the 8:30 mornings a lot better then the 7:00am ones a little better. we also have a "quiet time" in the afternoon when the tv goes on and she can calm down or play or cuddle on the couch.

He is getting enough sleep and its even OK if he sleeps for more than 12 hours...it depends if he naps during the day! My girls at that age went to bed between 7 and 8 and they woke at the same time the next morning!

Wow! He's up later than I am! My son is 2, and he's in the tub by 7:00 and in bed by 7:30 every night. He sleeps until 6:30 or 7:00am.

If it's working for you now, that's cool, but you have to take into consideration that he'll be in school in a few years, and he won't be able to sleep until 11:30am. So, it might be easier to change his sleep schedule now than after he's had 5 years to get used to it. Are you putting him to bed awake, or do you wait until he passes out?
