When should baby learn to roll over?

My son is 11 weeks old and is not rolling over yet. He loves tummy time and holds his head up really well. He is also very big for his age (97% for height and weight) and seems very strong. He can push him self up but not even attempting to roll over when on his back or stomach. Is this normal? What is the normal age for this development?

Thanks!

My daughter started rolling over when she was 4 months, but every baby is different! I would say before 6 months... I'd be concerned after that and bring it to the attention of the doctor.

Your little guy sounds like he is right on track. 11 weeks is really, really early for rolling. And for bigger babies (mine is also +95th percentile) it can happen even later. I think my son rolled like once front to back when he was 4 months old. Mine didn't even push up on his arms (like a push-up position) until he was 6 months. But now at 8 months he rolls all over the place!

My oldest could sit unsupported about 2 or three weeks before she could roll over! I think she was 5 months old before she even attempted. My youngest was 4 months old. I think between 3 and 4 months is when they consider "average" for rolling.
