Anyone else NOT using modern cloth diapers?

We use mostly fitteds, prefolds, and flat diapers. I LOVE making fitteds they are so cute! We don't use covers except for fleece at night(would use wool but it's WAAAY too expensive!) I really don't see the point in a cover because I feel like once the diaper is wetting through they should be changed anyway and if they wet through too quickly, add more absorbency(We have just a couple pockets for car rides though). My only problem is pins. I know of someone who, when they were a baby, screamed and screamed and the parents couldn't understand why, until they went to change her and found the pin (a BABY SAFE pin too!) stuck in her side! Pins just scare me! lol I don't know why they didn't use velcro or snaps in the 50's and stuff since they used them in clothes. We use snappis and I have added regular snaps and velcro to some of my prefolds for DH.

I used them when my daughter was first born but my husband had so much trouble pinning them so I switched to a pocket style diaper so he could help more with the diaper changes

I use flats & prefolds but i use Thirsties velcro covers over them. Was using the diapers pins until i discovered the Snappie.

i used the flannel flat folds, snappies to hold them and plastic tree hugger covers, only kept up with it until 8 mos old then shamefully switched to plastic, i think i will need to sew up some kind of insert to absorb the larger amounts of urine that bigger children make, hopefully on baby number 2 here we'll be more successful!

I mostly use flat folds.... and I like them. I also use some fitted which I made. I've had no problems with them. As for plastic pants I don't use them, I use diaper wraps. Couldn't find any plastic pants when I bought my wraps.

That's what I used for the most part. We had some of the newer covers, but I didn't like the velcro closures and just didn't care that much for them. I have heard some really good things about a few of the newer kinds, but not sure I want to drop the cash to use them.

I have for a year now and haven't had any problems. Once you get the hang of it it is easy- I even have my husband doing it.
