Hey all.
I had my 2nd baby 6 weeks ago and am currently experiencing PPD. My GP has told me meds are the best way to treat it, but I'm not sure I am comfortable taking meds without trying other things first.
Does anyone have any suggestions for helping, other then medication? And what are other peoples experiences of medication?

I am using an amino acid supplement. Works great for me. Mine is a mannatech product but there are other companies that have amino acid products too.

Yes! Chinese medicine is absolutely amazing, and until you get an appointment, evening primrose oil was an absolute lifesaver for me.

I to had PPD after my 2nd but didn't realize it until she was almost 3 months old. A few weeks after I realized that one of my best friends past away. He went to get her up to feed the baby and she wasn't responding, she never came back. Her and her hubby lived with us and she had an 8 week old baby boy at the time of her death. We had a mutual friend who has a baby that is 2 weeks younger than hers. She had to go on antidepressants because of PPD and our friend passing. She lost her milk supply because the scrip.
I think what helped me was realizing I was depressed and then getting out of the house for an hour or so several days a week. I have a friend who was going through a divorce at the same time and she came over and dragged me out a lot. I am also seeing a counselor 1x a week.
Also Omega 3 fish oil and I will get back with you on more natural things after i talk to my holistic guy on monday.
