I saw the movie three times and enjoyed it more each time. The first time I saw it I compared it to the book too much, and lets face it, the movie is never as good as the book. I also did what a couple of other people mentioned and bought the soundtrack before the movie came out and tried to guess what part they'd play which song for. That resulted in me very annoyingly exclaiming "I knew they'd play that song for this part!" in my friend's ear a couple of times! LOL I keep missing the part where they play Decode though...did anyone else notice it??

Decode is not in the movie... I stayed as long as i could through the credits last time, but I still didn't hear it. All the other songs, and the extra one by Rob Pat is in the movie, but Decode is not. A shame... I love that song.

I agree with the lack of the "love" scenes. One thing that nobody has mentioned is the whole Romeo and Juliet stuff. I just think that contributes to all the love and passion they have for each other. I feel like if I hadn't read the books I may have been kinda confused. I do want to see the movie again and not feel like I'm judging it to the book. I would like to enjoy the movie for itself. Also, for parts of it it didn't seem like there was much chemistry between Rob and Kristen. Hopefully the next movie is better, I know there is a different director so we'll see.

I really expected more with the part where Edward shows his skin to the sun.  I kinda thought it would be something more wowing!  I loved the ballet studio scene.  I hate that they didn't put the biology blood testing in the movie.  I loved the wall of caps as a joke to show how many times they have graduated high school too funny.  I loved all the famous lines in the movie.  La Push was spot on loved it!

I agree that the movie was good for those that didn't read the books.  I saw the movie first and the only part that really bugged me was when she was in the hospital and her oxygen tube kept moving up by her eyes and down on her cheeks!  Drove me crazy...just the little stuff like that.

After reading the books I wish they would have put in the blood testing day of biology into the movie.  But I thought the baseball part of the movie was pretty dead on.  I can't wait till the next movie comes out!

there was alot from the book missing in this movie. i loved the series, i actually can't wait to see how they do the last book. with bella being pregnant and her giving birth. let's hope with all the technology that is at hand will help the producers better the next 3 movies. eward has always been my favorite, but i have to say i really liked james(the bad vampire) he was really hot. ;)

The Movie was good for those who have not read the book. My husband liked the movie (he has not read the book). I was dissappointed that they turned a Love story into and action film. I to think that they needed to spend more time on the love aspect. I think that Rob is who I invisioned to play Edward, but not Kristen as Bella, I'm not sure who I would have picked but I just don't see her. Just because she "sees" herself as being plain doesn't mean that she is. The clutsy part of Bella wasn't brought out, Guess they will have to bring it out in NM because of the birthday scene.

Oh I know what you mean!  I feel the restaurant scene wasn't that long either.  I loved the movie, but the book is by far the best of the two.

Loved the book, but very disappointed with the movie. Have to agree with most about the "depth" of their relationship not being developed. If I didn't read the book, I would never understand why she really wanted to be with a vampire. The people getting "killed by animals" did not need to be included in this movie. The whole visit to the Cullens house was completely rushed and didn't give you the history of the family. Hopefully the next movie will be better...

I did enjoy the movie, but of course disagreed with a few things. I thought they should of played up the fainting and stop-breathing parts too. I was waiting for the monitor in the hospital to stop. I also was disappointed when they were in the car in Port Angeles and he asks her to say something to distract him and she says "Buckle your seat belt" In the book she is going to kill Tyler which wouldn't make sense because Tyler never asked her to the dance in the movie, but it was one of my favorite lines. I personally can't wait for New Moon because I love Jacob and want to see more of that character in the next movie.

That's funny cause I bought the soundtrack before the movie came out too and my sister and I were doing the same thing, trying to figure out which scenes the music would play. Of course we were completely wrong, except for the song Edward and Bella dance to at the end. I've seen it 3 times and really want to see it again although I think my boyfriend would kill me, haha. And yes midnight sun is the one she was working on, hopefully she does finish it, if you read on her website she was awfully upset when it got leaked on the net and didn't know if she was going to finish it. Here's hoping she does!

I loved the movie. I tried not to watch the trailers, and I didn't think that the actors for Edward & Bella were right...but after seeing the movie, I was in love. However, I felt cheated by Emmett, he needed to be much bigger in size. I bought the soundtrack for my daughter (and me) and we had fun trying to decide which songs would play during which scenes. I loved when Edward took Bella up the tree and I loved the ending. I can't wait for the next one! Is Midnight Sun the one S.M. is working on that got leaked out by accident?

Overall I enjoyed the movie, but I agree. Some of the "depth" of their building relationship I felt was missing. Like there wasn't enough build up or anticipation of them falling in love. No introduction of the family to Bella either, except the one scene.
I think it could have been a little longer or again, I think it needed more voice over from Bella.

When we saw Edward standing in her room (that was out of MS) and Rosalie's dialogue at the hospital, though said in a different setting in MS, that is where they got the lines from. :)

I agree with the heart rate thing. I was waiting for that to happen and the whole Bella being breathless everytime Edward touches her and almost fainting, actually she is supposed to faint once. The depth of their relationship and the amount of time it took for Edward to be comfortable touching Bella was too rushed although I guess there are on a time limit. I loved the baseball scene and the ballet studio scene too. Not the exact same as the book but really good and I don't know if it was bad acting or what but i didn't really like the part where he sucked the venom out, it felt like acting and not real. Loved Emmett with the knive and the whole, "well her name's bella" comment. Charlie had some good lines too, especially the gun part, haha. I can't recall right now the parts that were midnight sun so let me know.

Let me also add my disappointment with the restaurant scene... Edward should not have even glanced at the waitress! And in the ballet studio, Carlise did not have to tell Edward to stop sucking the venom out of Bella, he did it on his own. Carlise telling him makes him look weak. - I can't sleep tonight, so I have WAY too much time to think. LOL
