I don't like pencils either... I can write with them, but I can't touch paper with pencil writing on it. I don't like that you can feel the lead, it makes my hands feel funny. I'm the same way with newspapers... I can't touch regular black & white newspapers, it's disgusting to me.

Maggots, ugh! I keep picturing them burrowing into my skin and crawling their way around... I'm TERRIFIED of them.
I lived in a city once and they imposed a compost Green Bin policy to eliminate the quantity of garbage. Well, in the summer one day me and a friend smelled something horrible. We followed the smell to the back porch and the green bin. I opened it, because I had thought it was empty and was confused as to what was smelling. It was OVERFLOWING with maggots. I cringe just thinking about it. I screamed sooooooooooooo loud and slammed the lid down, which sent them flying everywhere. My friend nearly wet himself laughing at me, even though he thought it was gross, too.

I'm absolutely terrified of spiders and scorpions. I'm also scared of fireworks. I loooove to watch them but ever since I was like 12 or 13 when I went to my friend's family's house for the 4th, there were some SERIOUS "fireworks gone wrong" there. I'm talking people scarttering in every direction b/c they were chasing us! anyway, ever since then, I will watch them from a safe distance but I won't set them off and if someone is trying to set them off near me, I'll duck and cover!

Ok so after we did this post before I realized that I am afraid to bend over and turn off a lamp. I have no fear of the dark or turning off a light switch. It is the straightening back up in the dark that scares me. I guess I am just waiting for something to get me.

I hate spiders, I hate the feeling of them crawling on my skin, so I tend to freak when I see one near me.
BUT, my husband is waaaaay more scared of them than I am, which I think is pretty cute. My daughter LOVES spiders, and she has a few small spider toys, and she'll leave them laying around and sometimes my husband will scream bloody murder when he sees one, thinking it's real. I just laugh.
And I'm usually the one to kill spiders in the house.

Suuuure. Just wait until you meet someone who's afraid of cotton balls. You'd be all over that, it's too easy! I've accepted that, lol.

Yeah, my friends pretty much have a field day with it.
I make my husband take the cotton out of bottles of pills for me, and more than a few times he's shoved it down my shirt, or crumpled it in front of me, etc etc. He thinks it's just hilarious. :|

Speaking of escalators... I was at a shopping centre the other day and I was going up the escalator while a bunch of old people were going down in the one next to me. Then one of the oldies fell over just near the bottom of it so it was like a domino effect. It was scary to watch!! But as soon as they were all ok, I must say that I did have a bit of a giggle because it looked so funny. But I only laughed after we knew they were fine... he he he he... But I agree escalators can be terrifying!

Balloons. I'm not scared of balloons just sitting there. But if there is a balloon in imminent danger of popping (like if someone is blowing it up too big, or if a kid is squeezing it, or anything like that), then I start to get REALLY agitated to the point where I almost start crying.
I just started my new job a few months ago, and was looking at some photos from a team-building game from the last Christmas party, and they actually had a game where they had to sit on balloons and pop them. So I don't know HOW I'm going to get out of that one.

Mine is pretty crazy, and I get a lot of crap for it.
Cotton. Like Cotton balls, or Q-tips. I hate the feel of them, the texture, even the sound if you squeeze them. I get shudders and sometimes almost puke. I also hate touching carpets, like running my hands over them, or if there's a sticker stuck on the carpet, pulling it up. Same thing as with the cotton, the texture and sound just get to me.
Oh, and I'm not kidding, I almost puked while writing that.
