baby not taking bottle so frustrating

I still demand feed. My son wouldn't take a bottle for ages there. He flay out refused even though it would make it easier on me. I couldn't find a teat to suit my flow but we went with the teats that resembled a nipple the most. We got the orthodontic teats and he started to take from them. He would only drink from a bottle for my daughter for a while but refused to let me or my hubby do it. Fussy creatures they are.

I think it's okay to demand feed still at 6 months they're still a small baby and need it. Probably a growth spurt too.

Its funny we found she would take a bottle from me but not from my hubby but shes getting better today was very difficult felt bad for her. I most definately would not be using any bottles if I wasnt going away for a week in march. Im not sure how my milk flows. Ill just persist we';ve got kind of a pattern going I guess she must only take small amounts of breast milk in each feed because she seems full after just 40-60 mills then hunrgy again shortly asfter. She has alot of breast feeds i a day though where as I heard at 6 month they only had 4. I guess she just snacks :)

My kid was the same, hated a bottle. He was bottle fed from practically birth. he was fine until 3 months and would refuse to drink anything during the day no matter how many times i offered then wake up 5 times a night and I'd give him a bottle just so he'd have drank something that day and he'd take it at night but not during the day. It was soooo frustrating!

Just in case this helps, the most common bottles for baby who are "anti-bottle" to accept are Mam, Nuk and Pigeon. Many BF babies will not take a bottle if mum is within 20 feet (that is how far away they can smell breastmilk). The flow of the teat needs to match the flow of mum - i.e. if your milk pours out then a fast flow teet will be needed.

Dont spend money on the "boob-like" bottles, feeding specialists will tell you that most babies who refuse bottles dont take to them. The brands mentioned above are the ones to try.

Try first feed in the morning when she might be hungry enough not to care where it comes from.
