I, personally, feel that doll is a stupid, unneccessary waste of money, but obviously not because I'm opposed to breastfeeding. ;)

So, I was just reading a news article about this; they interviewed a few parents who said they didn't have a problem with a breastfeeding doll, but they had a problem with this one because of the shirt that came with it. So, I looked that up and it says that the doll comes with a tank top that has removable daisies for quick access to the nipples like a nursing bra.

All the other comments that I've seen are just from rambling idiots. Those parents didn't have an issue with the BF, just the apparel that it came with.
I'm not sure how I feel about the shirt...I'd have to think about it (because I don't have a daughter), but my first instinct is that I probably wouldn't like it. I'm really torn though.

I still think most of the people opposed to it are morons though. lol

Well I agree with you Julianne 100% to have it called perverted makes my blood boil! I really don't get it to be honest. Here in Western Europe it is not thought of that way at all. I am so happy I did not get weird looks when I BF my Claire in public, I had a cover of course but here it is normal.... I would not feel comfortable in the USA because of people like you described...

People are soooo dumb sometimes. I wouldn't buy the doll, simply because my 5yr old daughter pretends to breastfeed the 2 dolls she already has. She feeds her twins like this 'because that's what boobies are there for' My 3yr old son brings dolls to me at playgroup to be fed!

sorry I never saw the post that you are talking about but I would not buy a doll that you breastfed either however I nursed my daughter un til she was 18months my son until he was 11months and my other daughter until she was 9 months ( she had health problems and I had to switch her to high calorie formula) my youngest I didnt ge to breastfeed because of health problems. However when my son was born my oldest was 2 1/2 and there would be times that she was playing I would see her try to breast feed her baby dolls to her that was how babies eat.

I think the breastfeeding doll is a waste of money but it's not creepy and demented and gross.. Breastfeeding is a natural thing and if you have a little girl and you are breastfeeding your baby, she is going to be interested and "pretend to breastfeed" one of her dolls. So ya I think the specific doll itself is useless, but the concept of it is ok lol. And breastfeeding is not sexual at all! WTF people?! We are mammals, mammals produce milk to feed their young.. nobody thinks it's gross to see a dog feeding her puppies, or a pig feeding piglets, they go "aww, how cute!" So why is it gross to see a woman breastfeeding??

Oh my effing.....WHAT!! People are so ignorant it hurts sometimes and makes me want to move out to the middle of nowhere so that I don't have to deal with them.

Would I buy the doll? No. Why? Because a) I have boys and am past the breastfeeding stage (lol) b) even if I had a girl, she can pretend with any baby doll.

And about the doll being "sexual"....um yeah. How about get the doll for your daughter so that she learns that breasts aren't sexual - that they have a purpose other than sex. Get the idea into her head before she knows about sex, and she just might have better self esteem. Grrr....I'm going to stop now before I go on a total rampage.

Wow. And I thought the debates on the BF doll on COM were full of ignorant, stupid comments. I had no idea what kind of reception the idea would have got on FB.

I think I would have preferred to live in my, 'ignorance is bliss world' where most everyone was accepting of breastfeeding and don't view it as something sexual. Other than a few dumbasses here or there.

True. I do know a lot of people who think breastfeeding is gross and have flat out said to me that they would never try it and to not bother and formula is so much better for them when I was pregnant with both the kids. I was just like.........

argh! i don't get the opposition to the doll at all or how it's creepy or sick. bottle feeding dolls have been around forever... much like breasts which are for breastfeeding and people have breastfed forever. i think about time someone made a doll like that bahahaha hopefully the next generation won't be so farking ignorant

Um, yeah, they were some pretty ignorant comments. I personally wouldn't buy the breastfeeding doll (why pay that much when it is just as simple for your kid to pretend to breastfeed any doll), there is no need for stupid ignorant comments like that. I don't blame you for removing them.
