I named my children names that I liked. I did look up the meanings of their names but that isn't why I picked them. My sons name is Xavier Mathieu. Xavier is a Basque name. (people from Northern Spain and Southwest France) I did like that Saint Frances Xavier was a missionary who spread Christianity to the East Indies and Japan. That's kinda cool. Mathieu is just Matthew spelled different. Xavier means "new house" (I wish I had one of those!) Matthew means "Gift of God" So maybe God will gift me a new house!! My daughters name is Lillian September. Lillian is hebrew for "My God is a vow" September's just the month.

My daughter is Alyssa Shiloh, we chose Alyssa as we loved the name and her middle name Shiloh means Gift from God. Our son is Samuel Elijah. We chose Samuel as it means Asked of God and Elijah was a compromise, my husband liked Eli, so I said if it's Elijah it's a deal!

Logan Taylor~ with his name it didn't have meaning it was just a pretty name.
Paris Serenity~ I came up with Serenity b/c with my son I went through a horrible ppd and Serenity means peace and I refused to let it happen again. I let my cousin/ the kid's godmother come up with her first name. Paris loves that..she likes to tell ppl "my Aunt Pippy named me" =)
If I ever have another daughter I will name her Lela Elizabeth after my grandmothers.

They have meanings Nichole lol.. Gracy is Grace, Lacy as in something with lace and Lucy i forget but i had a budgie named Lucy so it means something!
But yeah i totally agree with you! That's the main reason i chose the irish name Ceili over the American name Kaylee. They are pronounced exactly the same but Kaylee means nothing and Ceili is ancient and traditional (and means something in gaelic lol)

In fact, I'm really terribly against names that don't mean anything. Don't know why. Maybe because it seems so flippant and well, boring to be honest. Nichole, Gracy, Lacy, Lucy...... blah blah blah. It's just a name and I'm sick of seeing just names. So we went a bit overboard and shot straight for the top by chosing names of gods lol

My daughters name is the gaelic word for a party and a dance and a type of music, and all together just a big shin dig! It's more beautiful with the whole Irish culture thing, i just can't explain it properly and express what it means to me. :) Plus, i like the name lol!

She's Ceili- pronounced the same as kaylee.

Middle name is Jade (just a colour) which is my brothers middle name :)

I don't think i'd ever choose a name without doing research into it's meaning! It's too easy to choose a nice sounding name with a ridiculous meaning.

No i didnt but if the meaning was something silly i rejected the name like cameron means crooked nose lol. My kids names all have 6 letters and 2 syllables though and i have 2 welsh names and 2 irish. Morgan means from the sea, Gerwyn means rough white, Connor means lover of hounds and Callan is warlike which i thought was appropriate with three older brothers lol. They have five names each including their surnames but the other middle names were one chosen by their brothers and the other two family names.

Not really. I didn't really even check the meanings I just liked the names. I liked the name Lola and must have looked it up and it meant "full of sorrow" so I decided no. Logan Damian means "little hollow' and "to tame" and Renae Isobel Joy means "reborn" and "god's promise" and I think joy just means joy.

I wanted to name my daughter after my father, Keith, but the whole family said I shouldn't give her a boy's name ( don't see why not). So we named her Eavan which means light, and her middle name is Keith, which means a place. So her name means a light place. If you met her you would say it fits her perfectly!

With my first born I named him Zjimon and it rhymes with Diamond, but the way you pronounce the ZJ is the same why you pronounce the first part of Angelina Jolie’s last name

Anyway I chose that name for the way it sounded and later found out that it means “Powerful Blood” it is an African name, and it fits him he is a powerful little guy with abs, triceps, biceps very defined muscles and he is strong for his age of 8



With my second son who is 14months I chose the name Mikah because it just seemed befitting and went to look it up it means “He who resembles God”

But now that he is getting older I think his name should have been Mayhem because he creates much chaos around the house…LMBO

For our first son we named him after my Uncle. For out second son, we just liked the name. Middle names are after family members on my husband's side. Both the boys' first names have nice meanings, so it worked out nice.

My sons name means "sweet and harmless" and "supplanter" I had no clue what it ment until just now but we picked the first name because we liked it and the middle name is a family name and our daughters name means, "one who supplants" and "safe".. We just liked her first name and her middle name was her daddy's call sign in the military.

I looked up my son's name.. it means "God's Peace" Which i guess is fitting.. he's been a pretty peaceful child and brought me great peace many times.

nooo Marshall is a french name meaning Horse Keeper we don't own horses and like me he's terrified of horses if you ask me we named him after two people Marshall from how I met your mother (funnily enough my son is going to be freakishly tall if he keeps growing the way he does) and Benji Marshall whose an alright football player :) if you ask my ex he was named Marshall after eminem -__- if he ever disrespects me the way eminem disrespects his mother (and i dont care what she did in the past) i will not hesitate to pop him in the mouth. I think the main reason we called him Marshall is because its an uncommon name without being overly hard to pronounce or spell. his two middle names, Andrew Blake, were simply because we liked the names

My first daughter is Marcail Raine meaning Pearl Queen. I chose the name because I was in love with the name not the meaning. My second daughter's name is Liesel Joy...Joy from my middle name and Liesel was pure accident. She was supposed to be Alexia (Defender of Mankind) however, my husband and I weren't entirely happy with it. AFTER she was born, my DH decided that Alexia was wrong and chose Liesel from our "shortlist" We didn't know the meaning of the name until a few days later (after my dad had looked it up)...her full name means "God is my Oath of Joy" and I LOVE it :)
