You came into a community forum that exists specifically for people to be able to sound off about the things that are bothering them and then proceeded to tell the members of the forum not to do that on an OLD THREAD of all things. I imagine it'll get locked down shortly, which won't surprise or upset anyone very much.

You threw around a few judgmental comments and you're upset to get some back. Apparently you ran out of argument on the way, as all you could then do was parrot my words back at me.

I use FB a lot, both for fun, keeping up with friends and in touch with family who are 3000 miles away. I update a lot. I don't think I'm better than anyone else and certainly don't have a self-important throne though I do get a bit pedantic from time to time (that's *your* by the way, Sandra, not *you're*).

That said, I still agree with the OP. Some people really do just post far too much intimate information. It's not about how frequently they post or how often they're on the site, it's about what they choose to tell everyone. I've had 'friends' post that they're sitting on the toilet eating a hamburger, for heaven's sake. That wasn't a mental image that I needed.

So yes, I do think that kind of post is 'garbage' and agree with the OP.

This particular sub community is for venting by the way. People are going to vent about things they don't like. If you don't agree with them, that's fine, nobody expects a consensus all the time (or we wouldn't need some of the bitching pages that exist), but it's a little bit hypocritical to wade in here berating people for venting, don't you think?

I have a FB Page & have not logged in for at least 5 months. I only created my FB for my out of state relatives to send pictures of the kids.

Obviously, some people that are being rude in their responses must be bored to "pieces" ... themselves if they are logging in enough to see this garbage. Or even worse...I would bet those same people are probably one of those types "yawn" who have their FB stuff sent to their phone.

So give these other poor souls a break. Maybe they are silly (or more likely lonely)... for writing moronic posts. But for those folks responding w/h such scorn ... I say you are just as stupid for wasting you're time complaining about them.

You are no better than "them." So get off of you're self-important throne.

I hate the spurned updates. They're only embarrassing themselves. My husband's cousin is 30-something and has 2 kids who are 8 and 11 and she's always got a new boyfriend then 3 months later she is "sick of dating assholes and being single" when yesterday she'd never been happier with the latest guy and she loves hims oo much and is living the dream. SHe's done this about 6 times since she moved here and moved in with every single guy and he's the kids new step dad after 4 weeks of knowing him and she's introducing him to the family and wondering why people are apprehensive.

I have a FB friend (girl I used to work with) who posts status updates about how she is going out to pick up, then three days later posts one about how he hasn't called yet. haha this bitch is 33 and has a 10yo. Grow the fuck up!! If you're going to do that stuff, don't post it for the world to see!

I don't post anything really personal on FB. When my ex bailed when I was pregnant, there was certainly no scathing status update from me lol.

I have a relative that put all this scathing shit about his ex as his status and when he went to go for full custody of his daughter guess what, DIDN'T HAPPEN (her lawyer used this against him in court, DUH)! I hate the ones that post where they are. I don't care that you are sitting in traffic. I don't care if you are at the dentist. I don't care that you are grocery shopping. Really! It drives me crazy when people post something every three seconds. I usually end up hiding that person because it just becomes too much. I also don't like when they put all their personal stuff on there. If you are mad at your bf don't let the world know let him know. If your best friend said something stupid again tell her and not Facebook. I go on every few days and read all the nonsense but I rarely update my status.

I have done the fb thing of doing the status to piss someone off and then i did the whole oh no it's not about you thing..... Not my finest moment. Neither was my hacking someone account and leaving a nasty status update and then changing the password. They deserved it but i should have had more class...... Oh well i don't do it anymore.

I have soooooooo been there and completely agree. If you know me well enough to have issues with me, then you know me well enough to have my number - call me, don't post snarky crap up on FB. Also, constant whining from people. Every update is a new whining session about how miserable they are....sheesh!
